One issue the truck still has is hard start after a heat soak. It has new stock output injectors from 5 0 Motorsports. It will start on the second try or if I give it a little throttle while cranking.
I'm also using Gibbs 10w40 break in oil, what should I do for the first oci?
The previous owner sent me $1500. I did not take it to the previous shop which is probably a good thing after seeing the mess of red goop over grey (possibly rtv) tryinging to seal the tin on. The current shop used the right stuff sparingly and even cleaned off the headers after install, it...
The steed is back in action... OUCH THAT HURT!
Anyways, WAY more pep 1800-3200rpm so far.
O'Reilly's engine
Extreme Energy Comp Cam
Black bear black box tune
Gibson headers
ALOT of misc parts
Still blows 4x4 fuse... Time to trace that down while I throw in the 4" diamond eye.
I am putting a marine cap and rotor on a distributor the shop had laying around, said it had been sitting a couple years with around 5k on it before the guy wanted an ls swap.
Never have gotten all of the adapters to get to the test port but I did buy a T that I put in line with the lift pump, very little psi dead headed. I checked the fuse, relay, voltage at the LP plug, and finally probed the wire right next to the LP.... The wire snapped and had corroded...
Or better yet.... Buy a new seal kit so you aren't having to fill the gap from the original 150k mile 20yr old seal.
And what kind of so called professional uses that orange/red junk. Right stuff is cheap and easy to use.
There is not a factory oil cooler on this truck, how hard would it be to add? There is an ac pusher fan and trans cooler so there is not the same space a 6.5 has for the cooler to mount
So the engine lost a wrist pin, and scuffed a piston. There is silverish goo in the exhaust port. The pick up screen was plugged with 3 colors of rtv, the pan and all sealed surfaces had 3 layers of rtv in 3 colors.
