    PMD question

Now that is a great idea! :iagree:

An idea I have pondered about for extra cooling capacity

Another old Mini trick. I have done this as well. In traffic, with 95-100 degree Florida heat, and no AC. However, its rather hard to explain to your wife why you are running the heater in the summertime.:smile5:

An idea I have pondered about for extra cooling capacity

This is/was a popular mod on Minis, especially before higher capacity radiators became available. Its not unusual for modified Minis to overheat, even at idle! The heater takeoff is at the back of the head and this is where the auxiliary radiator takeoff is located, a similar location to the...

A/C Recirculate door actuator or control head?

The light worked with the button. Its only connected to the switch, it has no idea if the door is actually moving. I would think your control unit is bad - that is fairly common. More expensive to buy but much easier to replace!

    AC VOV???

I grew up in Orange County. Yes it can get hot there, but you don't know what heat is until you experience Florida in the summertime. 95-100 degrees at almost 100% humidity must be experienced to understand it. And its still hot at midnight!

    AC VOV???

I live in hot and humid Florida and have had a Sub for 15 years. I have used the VOV in our (twin air) Suburban. I really didn't notice much difference. I just redid most everything in the AC system and went with a stock orifice tube. What you need are all the components working properly and...

    Head Light Decisions????

To answer your question, yes you do need a relay. One on the low and one on the high side. IMO the factory wires are inadequate for stock lighting, much less for upgraded lights. This should be the first modification for any truck. It will make a difference. Once you have the proper wires...

    Head Light Decisions????

Where is your complaint? You have already stated that the subjective appearance of your headlights is more important to you than having effective and safe vision. At least your your truck isn't fugly!

    Main cap girdle question...

Good points Tim. I was just pointing out that any block can crack, not just the abused ones. Interestingly, there were no outward indications of the cracks in the block. It ran great, no funny noises, no oil in the coolant or vice versa. A little smoke when you started it up, but that was...

    K47 air box

A mounting bracket is easy to make if you want to use the muffler. Yes, K&N makes a filter for this airbox. I will take the resonator if still available. Thanks!

    Installing ARP Studs ???'s

And one more thing. My studs came with a packet of the new ARP Ultra Torque lube. They say its the bee's knees for fastener lube. That is what I used on the nuts and washers. You still use sealer on the block end of the studs! I torqued the studs per ARP specs, I can't remember what it was...

    Installing ARP Studs ???'s

12346004 its expensive, list price is $22.84 for 1.7 oz tube, but one is enough to do all the head studs. Seems to be good stuff though. Oh by the way, hand tight on the studs. There is a small hex on the top for an allen wrench to help install them, no double nutting required.

    Main cap girdle question...

I hate to differ with you Tim, but on our 1995 Suburban the main webs were cracked all the way through at 180,000 miles. This was a non oil squirter block. You would have to look pretty hard to find a 6.5 that led an easier life than that engine. We are the original owners and for most of...

    Installing ARP Studs ???'s

You should read this thread before you install them. This is what I posted in the above thread: I can tell you what I did. So far they are not leaking, but its early days. Anyway, I washed every stud in solvent, then rinsed in water and air dried them. I then washed them in dish soap and...
