Already on it Tanman_2006, will be meeting with the machinist to hash out the possibilities next week. Have to thank 6.5 for trying this, and Mazda for inventing it to use on rotary motor back in the eighty's. Old technology for old trucks, got to love it, have to be careful though to much boost...
I think if regulated by exhaust gas pressure it would be a nice set up. Electronic off of the current vac solenoid would be sweet as well.
Just for giggles I videoed my OTC monitor (not posted) showing RPM fuel rate timing and boost, (unloaded truck) I can start to make boost as low as 1316...
I think this is a pretty neat set up if it could be done in the same manner. 6.5 what do you think about this.

This thread has been jacked enough, this is about quick spool valves.
Ok back on track A nice thread on the BD valve. Also found out from a knowledgeable person that Mazda invented the original design and used it on their rotary motors so they could use a larger turbo. Was a production item until Mazda scraped the idea...

DID you catch the fact that Suburbank is running a stock tune as well and you are running a high performance tune? Also Suburbank has 3.42 gears. Just saying!
I run 2.7 to 3,2 at cruise with no load and around 5 to six loaded and the boost gauge moves in time with the fuel pedal give it fuel...
DID you catch the fact that Suburbank is running a stock tune as well and you are running a high performance tune? You should ask your tuner to make you a chip.
I think most people don't tow with 3.42 gears. Low rpm and high boost equal a bad combination. I tow at 70 MPH and I am at 2368 at...
I think if you look at the top of his video it says with stock tune. Unless I made a mistake. Look at the top it says without tune.
Timing and fuel play a big role. And evidently so does gear ratio and tire size. Possibly your tuner could make you a chip that is optimized for the turbo. I...
I am so looking forward to sharing the tunes and seeing how these progress. Finally a collaborative effort. I can't wait to get my APU1, following the tracking like a kid at Christmas.
Are you running a tune optimized for you clone hx turbo? A different tune optimized for the ATT on your truck may make a difference in the smoke factor and spool up time.
I believe suburbank is running a stock tune not a optimized tune. So that may be a limiting factor for high rpm fuel...
I think seeing the difference in timing curve, and fuel between different set ups will let a lot of people choose how they use their vehicle, knowing they will be able to get a custom tune for their type of driving and equipment.
I also got tuner pro RT with a registered copy. Supposed to be good with the APU1 I have someone that can read hex like a second language, and they are a programmer so hopefully I have someone to help.
I have purchased a APU1 burner and real time emulator for OBD1 and would be happy to burn a chip for someone with their tune. As long as the shipping is paid and the chip is paid for. Not really sure what I am doing yet so I have to get a basic knowledge of the equipment, I have a good mentor...
