It could probably be adapted by using a reducer silicone coupler. Not sure what the size is on the S&B elbow but maybe a hump hose coupler could still fit the HX40 axis
Another idea would be to fab a different outlet if the plastic plate with molded elbow can be unscrewed. Make a new piece out...
It looks like that compressor has the high pressure cutout switch. As far as I know the original '93 didn't come with the high pressure switch. At least it's not there on mine and I'm certain it's stock. Would you be willing to show some photos of how the newer compressor switch was retrofitted...
Not sure if this will fit exactly in the egged out elbow, but you could buy another elbow and install. Then get a 1/2" NPT to barbed fitting to connect to the CDR

I'd also replace the condenser, unless you know it was replaced recently. I'm sending one for my '93 over to @Twisted Steel Performance for coating here shortly.
What specifically is in the retrofit kit? The compressor on my '93 is likely original and no good, so I'll be upgrading that too...
I know nothing about the auto side of things...but I do know the 5.9 is notorious for eating automatic transmissions. I have a buddy with a first gen 12v and he's put 3 transmissions in it in the 15 years he's owned it...I'm going to help him swap a NV4500 into it sometime in the next year or...
I think the speedo is read off a sensor in the transmission rear tailhousing. That sensor or wiring to it could be the issue with the speedo. I have no idea if the ABS gets any readings from the speedo sensor but doubt it's related. Pull ABS codes as suggested first
It's a pretty disingenuous type of advertising. Reading the fine print it says P400 rotating assembly, does that mean crank, rods and pistons or just crank? Because if it's just a forged crank it's an optimizer identifying as a p400 haha.
With the p400 parts now discontinued/ no longer...
I've never made the swap but have pulled a few 241Cs before, big fan of the manual floor shift.
I can't speak to whether one from 1989 will work in a 1996, mechanically and electronically speaking as I don't know if the sensors for speedo on the rear and t-case engagement on the front are the...
You could theoretically mount a temp sensor in either the fill or drain plugs. Just take either plug to a decent hardware store that has a way to identify threads and find a plug that can be drilled/ tapped or is already threaded for 1/8" npt as that's the common trans temp probe size
I run the...
Carrier bearing; looks like they come in a few different sizes. Check the diameter of your bearing to confirm

After seeing the email I'm even more leery. 7 attachments?! A new brush hog for that unit alone is at least 5 or 6k. I'd say run away as fast as you can. Or ask for him to take a picture in front of the machine with today's paper. And given how expensive diesel is the trucking rate is too low to...
Part of me can't believe that's real. Units without the backhoe go for 20k more

Have you verified the company is legit, any way to contact the chamber of commerce or any other governmental agency in...
The older blocks hat 3/8 NPT fittings in the block while the later ones hat 1/2" NPT
As far as routing goes the lines should go the same. It's helpful to be able to secure the lines to the frame near the motor mount like it came stock. In @SnowDrift 's build thread he linked to a neat clamp to...
I mentioned it in another thread but my go-to for a vehicle that size would be a VW ALH TDI with a mechanical injection pump off a Land Rover 300. You could beef up the ALH with BRM rods and pistons. Or go further by boring the ALH out to a 2.0 (81mm bore) and drop in a BEW engine crank, rods...
Bilstein looks to be the most expensive of the bunch at close to $100/ each
leaning towards these for the front: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=451801&cc=1053302&pt=7556&jsn=551
and these for the rear: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=503661&cc=1053302&pt=7556&jsn=547
Seems the main difference in performance/ price is whether the shock is "gas charged monotube" or not. Non- charged AC Delco heavy duty on RA are around $45 a piece, while the Ranchos or AC Delco monotube units are between $57- $64 a piece
So in anyone's experience is the extra price/ monotube...
I have a new in box crank gear and chain that came off my P400. Chris installed timing gears so no use for it. Also have a timing cover with the hole for sensor in it. If you'd like either for getting this to run I can give you a good deal.
I see nothing wrong with putting the transmission in 4th or 5th gear to hold it in place for torquing.
Also, if you don't have a torque wrench that goes up to 200 you can use an extender tool to reduce the amount of force needed at the end of the wrench to reach 200 ft lbs. Explanation here...
Need to get both front and rear shocks for the '93 1 ton dump project. What was on the rig appears to be original.
Don't need anything fancy, just something to work as designed for the truck's use. All suggestions welcome
