    Help a Brother Out #2

I've done hundreds when I worked as a heavy truck equipment mechanic. And probably close to that on my and friends vehicles. Torqued to specs and backed off or just tighten and then back off and they pretty much wind up in the same place when done. Tightening the bearing to start is to make...

I agree. I always lube them with the axle lubricant or a little grease. You need the lube to properly set preload anyway.

I might have a heater control. I pulled a radio out of a 2000 cab and chassis at the bone yard a while back and I think I grabbed the heater control too even though some of the mounting tabs were broke. I'll have to look when I get home. are your windows electric or manual and what color are the...

Can you give us a little more info on the other truck like model, year ect. Maybe someone has some of the parts that you need to get it going with a little comfort. Depending on how long they have been sitting, the tires may still be fine.

You can also block the brake pedal partway down. I use an adjustable hood prop between the pedal and seat.once it's pushed ahead it won't let fluid run through and empty the reservoir. You can use a piece of wood also. Just make sure you unhook the battery if you're going to let it set...

I see that same part number on your listing for $5.58. Maybe the $12 was for the pair

The ones for the dual rear wheels are larger diameter. That's what you want. I like AC Delco but it's hard to justify $50 over $5. I just ordered the Raybestos WC37337 for my 94. Around $12 IIRC.

If there was a kink in the line or a bad hose, It could let pressure through with brake pedal pressure but not release properly, but that should be visible. Front brake hoses in the salt belt will collapse under the bracket that secures them in the middle because the slt rusts the metal which...

    No it shouldn't

    Help a Brother Out #2

If the brake is dragging, opening the bleeder or pinching off the line won't help unless the pressure isn't releasing which is highly unlikely. If it's caused by the Parking brake (which would be my guess) the fastest way to release it is to cut the cable as close to the backing plate as you...

Hard Shifting NV4500, less than 2 years on clutch

Your problem could be coming from a worn input shaft. You said it was rebuilt with used parts, and if the splines are worn the clutch plate does not slide well enough on the splines to release completely from the flywheel. Do you still have the two piece flywheel? When I replaced my Clutch in my...

    700r4 - 4l80E quandary

I'm pretty sure that 95 is still TBI so the engine should be the same. 1996 was the first OBD2 multi port injection as far as I know. The interior change in 1995 makes it more confusing, That's why the heater control is 1995 only. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Your electrical issue has me a little puzzled. Did you replace the ignition switch with a Duralast? If wiggling wires behind the heater is causing running issues also, I would think ignition switch. It's got to be a loose connection somewhere. If it was a short it would be popping fuses...

I've got a pair of red bucket seats but they are from a 92 Yukon. Different style and color. I'll keep my eye out though!

You are so right about that! You have to use them regularly up here to keep them freed up. I set and release mine about once a week to keep them free.

Stoney I could send you a throttle pedal assembly to try on your truck. I know I have a couple extras kicking around in my shop. Just send me a message with your address and I'll ship it to you. I've been trying to quickly read through the pages on this post and get up to speed. How is your...
