The battery relocation is done. I ran 00 cable between the positive terminals, and more 00 from the batteries to the power distribution under the hood. 2 gauge for starter and alternator, 4 gauge over to the fuse block.
Both inner fenders are back in also. I kinda butchered the passenger side...
Getting a little bit closer...
I forgot to put the horn back in, so the grill has to come back out one more time. I grabbed some LED marker lights thinking they should fit better with the intercooler, I was wrong. I ordered new TYC marker light housings from RockAuto to be modified to fit. I'll...
The intercooler install is done. Pipes are clamped down and the new oil drain tube fits perfectly. The ID of the pipe on the block for the drain tube needed to be 7/8" for a good tight fit. Luckily I had a step drill with that as the max diameter, that made quick work of it. Now just to finish...
Yes, much much easier, and it will flow a lot better.
This one was a 5.7 near Magna, UT, just outside of SLC and a few miles from SLC Int Airport. Strongest one we have had in almost 30 years. I live about 35 miles north of the epicenter just outside of Ogden.
Got the 25" old drain tube yesterday, but it's been raining so hasn't made it's way on yet. Got the beads rolled in the intercooler tubes, so they just need to be plumbed and clamped. I redid the inlet side by clocking the compressor outlet straight down, two 45 degree bends, and in to the...
Got my other GMT400 put back together and running. It's a 1990 K2500 with a 383 and NV4500. I converted the stock TBI system to a Fitech 400 hp unit, Edelbrock Performer AirGap intake, and HEI distributor. It has had a wicked exhaust leak ever since the crate engine was installed (come to find...
No, the way it sits that oil drain tube is in the way. I just ordered a longer flex tube, so I'll cut the hard tube down and route the new hose around so I can clock the compressor outlet down. I'm kicking myself for getting rid of the front exit compressor cover I had.
Intercooler pipes are tentatively finished. I still need to roll beads on the ends of the pipes I cut and clamp it all down, but its essentially there. I'm not wild about the 180 degree bend out of the turbo, but it's the best I could do without changing back to a front exit compressor cover.
What bluetooth adapters are yall using? Mine is a generic ELM327 one from FleaBay, but I keep getting high data rate errors, so it kicks it back to low speed data update.
Add a new block heater to the list. Went to buy just the cable, ended up with a new heater too. It was a bugger to get back in the block, but it's in and tight.
Starting building new battery cables. Got the engine to frame ones done, need to get the box mounted in the bed to do the frame to battery grounds and the positive cables. Started working on intercooler piping. The driver side is basically done, waiting on a few pieces to do the passenger side...
Working on the battery box for in the bed. Just need my welder buddy to call me back to get everything burned in. Then I'll work on getting it mounted in the bed, cutting holes, and building new cables.
