Walbro started working again for 4 days and quit. At least it lasted for my camping/fishing trip. I ordered a Delphi HFP953 yesterday and it should be here Monday. So we'll see how long it goes.
Was just wondering what people are having good luck with for lift pumps. About every 2 years I'm buying another Walbro lift pump and thats only about 10-15,000 miles. I hardly drive this truck. I don't run any bio, just reg #2 diesel. I put one in probably 5-6 years ago and about a year and...
Check upper ball joints and the idler arm bracket also. Just did a 97 with same symptoms you described Rodd and it ended up being both upper ball joints and idler arm bracket. He did O'reilly ball joints 4 months prior. They are junk. Napa Premium or AC Delco Professional. They usually have...
And its nice to have the "POP" when you pull the handle to open the door. Old weatherstripping didn't do that. Not that there was anything dragging, but you would hear the click of the door latch releasing, but had to pull the door open. Now when you hear the click, the door pops open.
I only use dealer bushings anymore(been a mechanic for 24 years). I have had same problem with aftermarket bushings breaking trying to install them. Never broke a dealer one. Also on your door rattle, do you mean when you hit a big pothole or something you get that thump from the door like it...
I acquired 2 6.5L engines. First one is 12555506 and date code is F130. But it doesn't have 506 stamped in the valley like the other one. So I'm thinking June 13, 2000? This one the cam bolt was loose and the injection pump gear was hanging there. So I pulled the timing chain off and the...
neither. The water pump I put on was thinner than the factory one where the alt./vacuum pump bracket bolts on to it pulling the bracket in when the nuts where tightened. Which pulled the vacuum pump in at an angle throwing the belt alignment off for the vacuum pump.
So about 20K miles ago my front cover started leaking a little coolant. I pulled the front cover off, ended up replacing the timing chain, water pump, and drive belt while I was there. Bought a GMB water pump. Have used them in the past on other vehicles and never had a problem. The next oil...
I would JB weld a keyway before I would have someone weld on the crank. Myself personally, would inspect the main webs for cracks and if they look good, would replace the crank. 97-98 I believe, seemed to be the worst years for main web cracks. So even if they weren't cracked before, they...
Yeah me too. Mine are 3 1/2 years old and are torn like yours. I contacted them and they said they only have a 3 year warranty but they would give me $40 off a new set. What pisses me off is they said under normal use should last 10 years. I tow a 9000 lb toy hauler occasionally with this...
Oh and I usually put a shallow socket on the other side of the hinge and the bushings squeeze easily into to the hinge with channel locks or pliers. Can't believe pounding them like that, he didn't break any of the lip off the bushing.
I do them like that with a jack. But I don't like using my extentions as a punch. I bought the tool to install and remove the spring and the pins. I usually run masking tape down the door and the edge of the fender just in case to door and fender hit, and I put grease on the bushing and on...
They might delete that code with the KOJO tune. I have the Ateam and a Heath tune and I just keep the wastegate solenoid plugged in and I don't get any codes. With the stock tune it seems to take more throttle to get the boost to come up, but you should be getting boost.
Our local Napa carries them. And I can get them from World Pac, but World pac only sells to business'. I'm sure there are other good brands out there. How this came about was we did front bearings on a 2001 F250, 6 months later they were making noise. So the parts house sent me a different...
I pretty much only install Timken bearings at my shop, unless they want O.E. And I torque all of them to spec and have not had a failure of one in the last 4 years I've been using them. I used to try and save people money by using lower priced bearings. And 6 months later they're back and...
