What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

The Sparta pump only cost $80 delivered and the regulator is $99 US bucks which isn’t bad either. The jic fittings are sold separately which I can buy here locally but the mounting bracket comes with it.I also have a small fuel pressure gauge I can thread into the regulator so I can adjust it...

From rockauto this evening I bought a Sparta/delphi electric lift pump for my 96 gmc with the 6.2.I just need to find a proper mounting clamp to fasten it to the chassis. The Sparta is part number pn5000 from a 99 7.3 powerstroke F350 that delivers 43 psi so I’m going to run a diesel rx brand...

Yes it looks pretty good.Although lots of dirt and grime over everything since I installed the engine back in 2014-2015.

Morning everyone. Here are the finishing touches regarding the wiring for the fuel pressure gauge.I used 3 fuse taps which turned out pretty good.I had to use some permatex liquid electrical tape I found at Napa on the small gauge wires after I crimped and heat shrinked them going into the fuse...

That would be wonderful if a conversion fitting was possible to find.Sure would make things much easier.

I think it will be tough trying to get a crow foot in there so I’d probably double wrench it instead to give it a little more leverage. Then you should be okay.

Ok.Sorry to hear about that. The torque on those bolts is not much. Its only 18ft/lbs which isn’t a whole lot.Be sure to loctite those.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Sure that’s not a problem.Basically the lower intake is from a F code engine so no EGR passage to worry about. This truck used to have EGR but I wanted the F code intake instead.I kept the solenoids plugged in and capped off the vacuum line that used to go to the EGR valve. I bought a 3 bolt...

I have a 01 duramax fan blade on the way along with a 98 Hayden fan clutch to go on my 96 gmc but tighten the bolts firmly with a wrench and you’ll be good to go.Apply loctite if it makes you feel at ease as well. Sure.No problem at all on posting a link.I’ll probably buy a raptor in a few...

Perfect.Thank you👍 Looks like the raptor is what I’ll go with.I read they have a built in regulator that can be adjusted so that sounds really good.

Here’s the finished product from earlier. All painted up and good to go.There was a couple holes in the firewall to begin with so I used one of those with a grommet to prevent chaffing.Just a matter now of upgrading to a better lift pump.I was told the raptor is really good so I’ll definitely...

Sounds great. How much output do you have at the injection pump?

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

I’m also using two fuel filters which perhaps is causing a lower output with the primary being 14 micron and the secondary a racor 2 micron. With that said I still need a much better lift pump anyway.I hear good things about the carter P4601 but what do you guys recommend these days? Also in my...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

This evening the gauge wiring is wired up with the help of some fuse taps that make things much easier.I definitely need to upgrade to a higher output lift pump.Right now it’s putting out 5psi at idle, drops to 4 psi at around 1200 rpm and 9 psi with the ignition off. At least now I know how the...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Today I made some progress with the feed the beast modification on my 96 gmc truck with the 6.2.It turned out pretty well. I used a 9/32 Walter drill bit to enlarge the 7/16-20 jic fitting going into the injection pump.I considered a 19/64 bit but it leaves a thin wall afterwards so I figured...

    Fuel pressure gauge

I ordered some fittings this morning from Amazon and I have some blue 6AN aeroquip push lock hose that I bought a few years ago from EBay.I might have black aeroquip hose too. I condemned the old FFM years ago.I use two spin on fuel filters nowadays.

    Fuel pressure gauge

I think though I’ll order the additional fitting when the time comes to allow a little extra room.
