Can ya'll point me in the direction of the threads discussing the fake tech 2s? Ive been watching ebay for a while and really dont want to spend 1500+ for a good used tech 2.
No, bracket that sandwiches between motor mount and engine block, solid rod with a eyelet in each end, one end to bottom of bellhousing, other end to motor mount bracket.
Ok, since the thread was resurrected, figured I better chime in.
In 2016 I bought a 06 Duramax factory ZF6. While I enjoy it for the most part, and it has proven to be fairly robust, the parts availability has me spooked to ever swap one into something else. The cost and availability suck, and...
IIRC someone determined that a AC Delco professional grade 99.5+ water pump had the same housing as a 96.5-99 4 bolt water pump and to get the proper housing tweaks for the balance flow one had to stick with the OEM grade Delco water pump.
No idea which thread had that info unfortunately.
Anyone have a torque value handy for the nut that holds the front output yoke on? I'm 1000 miles away from my service manuals.
I'm on #2 with my 2767 Milwaukee, which is about 140 lb ft, as I use it on my lug nuts on that setting and double check with a torque wrench. I thought the manual said...
Also, is ultra black rtv resistant enough to atf for the seal retainer plate or do I need to buy some anaerobic sealer?
I have some anaerobic on hand in KS that I used on the 93 case that's in it now, but none here in Idaho, I really should just pack it in the pickup...lol
I'm leaning towards...
Pay attention to your front yoke setup and case length. 95+ is a direct yoke, 94 and older should be a flange.
Shaft length is different so these are not interchangeable.
Case length differs slightly, which might be problematic for your driveshaft.
Unfortunately I ran into this on my 95...
chain auto parts store, store brand stuff is garbage id only put on a winter beater thats final stop is the scrap yard, and even that is debatable.
Put quality on, its cheaper in the long run.
I still think the old girls are plenty viable in 2023, still cheap to buy and keep on the road. I just drug home 2 more since thanksgiving...lol 1800 bucks in both, and one drove home.
I definitely wouldnt DB2 swap a factory DS4 rig, I happen to like, prefer, and seek out a DS4 over a DB2.
In...
IMO the reason these crack is the lack of support rods from the motor mounts. i believe most if not all had them, but engine swaps and clutch jobs over the years have lost most of them.
Whenever Im in a junkyard I keep an eye out for them.
Last week I rolled into the Idaho farm with the 95 K2500, capping off a nearly 1000 mile run from the KS farm, which isnt terribly impressive until you factor in the weight, poor old girl was at 23,240 combo weight. rolled over 451,000 miles on the trip.
Prior to that it went up to MN to drag...
they do offer blank filters without the SCA brick.
I'd be interested in a kit if someone made a nice one for the 6.5L
We run them on farm equipment, and it seems the breathing through the overflow hose, a little dirt (tractor) or chaff (combine) gets in. always nice to filter that crap out.
Hey all,
I am looking for a set of brace rods for my various NV4500 trucks, it seems during clutch jobs they were removed and tossed. the 92-95 bellhousing is prone to cracking out, so I think these brace rods would help.
If Leroy or John offered a kit for this I'd be game for one. I love having fuel pressure readout in our old cat powered semi. tells alot about what is happening.
Looks good!
I ran onto some OEM Harrison dual air condensers out of a few 94 and 95 Suburbans in the junkyard in Idaho, I picked a couple up and intend on swapping them into at least the crew cab project pickup (not in signature yet, a 95 CCLB) as its is mushed over and full of crap, and the...
I finally got around to reading this. So sorry for your loss on so many levels!
Keep us posted on the outcome, I might be able to find a farmer who can help via a farm forum in case other plans fall through.
Keep your chin up, sounds like that thing is begging for a clean texas pickup that is...
So will this be able to be sourced from any Napa parts store, or only garages that are Napa certified (Napa carcare centers?)
Will they be competitive on price compared to rockauto?
