The 88 to 94 GMT400 trucks have the easiest heater core replacement of any vehicle I have ever worked on. Don't remember if the updated interiors in the 95 and up were any different.
@DieselAmateur, I don't know at what point we do need to increase the diameter of the fuel line, but my pump should be very close to 100cc output and I haven't run out of fuel yet with the stock '93 lift pump. I too am thinking of upgrading my fuel system as I would like a little more fuel to...
Thanks! I pulled the paint code off of my buddy's '05 Duramax. GM calls it cashmere. It's close to the original color of the donor for this truck. It hides dirt well- very important when then pavement ends just past my property. Dust rolls past my house in the summer time!
Finally got the stickers and badges on. Hopefully the new Michelins go on next week. Then it will be my daily driver while my zr2 gets some needed tlc.
The setup you are going for sounds very similar to mine. I don't have a 10 blade turbine, but I bored my exducer housing 2mm which probably has the same effect. Fun truck to drive and it tows well (10-14k).
I run a 14cm cko hx35 with a bored exducer housing. I also have a 24x12x3 cac under the bumper, and a water/meth system (12gph nozzle w/15% methanol). I can hold it to the floor for 2 min+ and stay under 1100 deg. This in second gear at about 45mph towing 14k (over 20k gross).
I do feel a 16cm...
Looking sharp! My Kicker did fit under the front seat, but I have a bench seat. You will be pleased with the sound. I put everything below 120Hz to the sub, and everything above that to the 4x6s.
Chris, It usually is the journey that ends up being more important than the destination!
Congratulations on the retirement countdown! My bucket list is growing but 22 years of spinning wrenches still awaits me.
I agree with needing more than butt dyno analysis. I promise to share results when I...
Since it seems that the numbers for head flow and cam timing are at least in the ballpark with most of the other diesel truck engines out there, maybe once the compression is lowered to even the playing field the only factors holding back the 6.5 versus the competition are how much fuel a rotary...
TSP, anything you can share with us about your cam research- suspicions confirmed, unexpected issues or surprises? (duration, lift, lsa, opening/closing rates)
Good info guys. I think Littleboy has shown that getting higher power levels than most of us are accustomed to is as simple as adding more fuel with a properly sized turbo. I think he may be on to something in his pumps that others haven't figured out yet. Reliability at those levels is probably...
Sooo.... I sent my truck to the body shop with the driver's door off to make it easier to paint the jamb and inner door (interior panel removed from door). After taking 2 months more than he said it would, I got it back with the door on the truck, but the guy said he had a hard time with the...
Thanks a lot guys, you got me thinking. I have a loudish tick in my engine (one cylinder) under light throttle when the engine is cooler (not having been run a long time or towing). I don't hear it when it's fully warmed up. Injectors have about 6k on them. Could it be a bad lifter bleeding...
The headliner is from OC Autocarpets. It was backordered for 4 months. There are two crossmembers in the roof (one at the dome light), but most of it is single layer.
.45 Colt with 300gr wfn from Montana Bulletworks. They weigh 308-310gr with the gas check. Should be around 1200fps when my...
The less boost you run while under light throttle (cruising), the better your mileage will be. Synthetics in the transmission, t-case, and diffs(75w-90) won't hurt either.
