Well I think I see a vacuum pump delete happening in the near future, I put a vac gauge on it yesterday and it doesn’t seem to be working at all.
Also fabbed a little bracket for my “turbomaster”. It’s actually just an old boost controlled wastegate actuator from my old turbo on the Dodge. I...
While we’re here, and discussing the topic of cooling systems; How do I know which water pump I have? I’d like to know if I have the HO water pump or not.
I think I found another coolant leak today... :(
Seems to be seeping from around where the water pump bolts to the block or around there...
I agree. Unfortunately we have already allowed it, and it may be too late to stop this crap now, this has been slowly creeping in to our lives from all sides for many many years, just so slowly and gradually we never noticed till now.
That’s my off topic rant for today lol.
Also noticed yesterday the top of my fuel filter canister thing is wet with diesel... not really sure where it came from. Would that indicate it’s maybe time to do a fuel filter relocate? I remember reading about that upgrade last year or something. I have a CAT 2 micron filter and filter base I...
Yeah I’m really wishing I hadn’t sold my HX35 when I upgraded the Dodge to the HE351, was still a good turbo and it would’ve been perfect for this truck. Oh well, just gotta let pylons be pylons, as Ricky would say (Trailer Park Boys).
Yeah I’m not really looking to fix the vac system, not really worth it on this truck, and the only thing it’s controlling is the turbo anyway. Such a complicated system for such a simple task. I’m considering deleting the vac pump as well.
Gutted my intake plenum today and made a blockoff plate for the EGR, then tapped my boost gauge into the blockoff plate so I didn’t have to drill and tap in the intake plenum. Hooking up my boost gauge confirmed what I’ve been suspecting, I’m getting very little boost, like under 5psi, which I...
Im sticking my neck out here but I don’t think the dodge will hold up honestly, they’ve never been good for much of anything besides the Cummins, and that’s the only reason I have mine, (I love that 12 valve) the front ends are always falling apart (unless you go with Carli or Thuren parts...
Personally I would keep the 06. If you’re not going to buy new enough to get the warranty I don’t see the point, still have to pay when it breaks, and it will. There is something to be said for having a vehicle you already know and know the maintenance history of. Plus it sounds like the truck...
