Yukon sat for almost 1 week since the last charging ordeal. In the 50s and it wung over quickly as it used to. Needed to run to the doctors Sunday after my 3rd round of sinus sickness.
They handed me a gambit of tests, strep, flu, and the usual 'vid...
All came back negative, I feel like I got...
Interesting, I will have to try this if the battery passes a load test. I checked the battery again tonight after 24 hrs of sitting and it's 12.3v no load.
Some fluid film fun, i'll admit the one thing I am liberal on:
Having an issue with slow cranks. Voltage was 12.34 the other day, when the vehicle is running I am charging over 14-volts per dash gauge which I know isn't entirely accurate. The alternator is a Delco Remy 160-amp unit replaced...
It's the Fisher isolation module for the plow setup. It's a 2 plug fleet flex system, so I can also mount up the new HT EZV plow. May eventually sell my straight blade for one but they are $4k plus right now.
Good eye on the cooler. If you look real close you will see the bottom metal lines...
Got the wiring mostly done. Just the turn signals and parking lights to solder in and we are ready for a test rip.
I was stumped for a few mins as I got all the wiring used. The person who took it out must have mixed up some plugs and I initially trusted they were in the right spots!
A little more trimming needed on the bumper, must be some other type of plow was originally on the truck we stole this bumper off of. Didnt really line up with the Fisher mounts.
Zero progress on the plow. It's been upper 80s here which is crazy for this time of year, I'll pass on sweating while installing this stuff. So stuck with an easy project. Got the mic mount installed on the console. Tired of the mic sitting in the console. Would have done it on the driver's side...
Just collected my last wiring harnesses for the Fisher HT plow install. Got a few fair deals on eBay for the main power and the headlight adapter. Just need to get the time to start installing before the snow flies.
Kept at the lights. Went to my local HF as I couldn't find my headlight kit. They ended up sold out. So I just purchased some 1200 grit, and 2000 grit paper. Sanded them up real nice, slapped a real light coat of clearcoat, then one a bit thicker. Currently drying:
Thinking about adding 1 more...
I actually have that kit, somewhere in my basement. I got it for my mustang headlights back in college and it seemed to work well. Of coursetoday was just a spur of the moment, and I am not sure If I can even find it (after 2 moves). Maybe will go take a look tonight if the wildfire smoke...
Heck of a ripper. Here in my company we have a shop guy who is basically dedicated to our shear upkeep. They are an expensive attachment to run! Operators do crazy things to them and its wild to see the carnage come back to the shop.
Trying to drum up side projects while at work over lunch to avoid working through my lunches as that seems to be the normal thing. Turned to the junkyard cab lights that are oxidized horribly.
Got the first one (middle) sanded with 800-grit:
After sanding them all with 800-grit, I still had...
I will second this for trucks. I put a 60-40 split bench w/folding console out of a 97 K3500 in my 94 K2500 that originally had a vinyl (pleather) bench many years ago. It required new holes for the inner rail of the passenger seat, and new holes for the mounting points over the hump on the 60...
