    My 2005 Yukon XL

Well, came up with a quick lick and stick to hide the gaping hole I punched out in the rear quarter panel. My initial plan was to complete the replacement this winter, but I've run out of time. Will have to wait till next winter. In the meantime denali cladding to hide the hole. Unfortunately...

I have seen it, but to be honest never used!

Replaced the 1 year old POS noisy Cardone reman PS pump with the help of a buddy. This unit is a NAPA reman. Fingers crossed. Also got the junkyard rear coil bags installed. Drovers side rocker sized, and tacked!

Well, tons of prep happened. First light coat of primer. Realized I don't have any painters tape. Used a piece of bag so overspray didn't hit the top black part. Will need to get some.

Mimicking the spot welds. Coming out decent so far. I need to finish cutting the extra material off of the inner rocker patch. I left it long on purpose.

It will be for sure. I currently have it sanded. Some peeling has gone down into the little circles that needs to be taken care of. Thought about a 12ga barrel brush to help scrape/rough up all the circles. It does separate from the rest of the grille via mushed over tabs that you heat up, and...

Sanding commenced. Need to focus on the hundreds if holes in the center as peeling is down into some of them.

I really want it to be subtle vs. full black out. Just worried the clear lights with silver backers will stick out like crazy. Ultimately don't want it any bit darker where it would prevent light shining through.

    My 2005 Yukon XL

It had 3 bad peeling areas on the outer parts, and a couple small ones on the inner grill. It took me about 2.5 hours to peel the outer. Original plan was to just sand but with the peeling I got worried it would just flake off. I'm really not a fan of the denali grill (mostly due to chrome, and...

Dumbest idea ever just commenced. Peel chrome plating from denali grille.

I do like using fluid film! Might try PB Blasters new surface shield too. My original plan was to sandblast the internal parts, paint, and install into the denali cover. Upon further inspection my chrome one is actually in decent shape just all dented up from jack-knifed trailers. Worst part is...

Learned a lot today about rear bumpers. Specifically interchangeability of the SUV bumpers. I am very disappointed with the rear denali bumper I bought off a FB marketplace sale. Its my fault, I should have inspected it more closely, but 0-degree temps I gave it a rough look, and loaded it into...

Always will be a beater for me, just hope to keep it as rust free as possible. Much easier with plastic! Bumpers do have scrapes, but so does the rest of it. So perfect match.

Made a trek about 1.5-hours south to a different junkyard. Ended up finding many things that came home with me: Black front denali bumper with fogs. Black denali rear bumper. Denali license plate bracket. Drivers headlight bracketry to core support. Airlift 1000 coil bags. OEM 2500hd cab...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

Been messing with the welder here, and there over the last few weeks. Getting better throwing down a straight line. At the point where I am going to give it the send on the Yukon. Been spending most of my time prepping the outer rocker, cutting, fitting, trimming, pondering, trimming, and...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

It is about $15 per 8x24 inch sheet. $20 for 16ga. We have a steel shop we deal with at work but they are only open during my work hours. Not entirely sure without research of any duct work for fan places where I could get it second hand. My work hours kill practice and material aquisition...
