I use the Amsoil. But My truck has been sitting for several years. I would have to check the maintenance book to see how many miles I actually put on it. I've heard you can run without the dampener, but haven't heard how that works for longevity

I was very tempted to go with the cable on our 1998 Suburban. It would not go into 4wd unless the front wheels turned just a little. Once you were stuck, unless you could rock it enough for the front wheels to turn, it would stay in 2wd.

I don't remember doing anything when Replacing ignition switches. It's been a long while. I thought I just started and drove. 1995, 1996 & 1998

It seems to me that after disassembly, I figured out a non-destructive way to disassemble the ignition switch. It didn't really matter. Every ignition switch I disassembled was charred.

I don't know that the page exists anymore. I probably posted about it years ago. Possibly before this page was up and running. I know the link I had quit working. But I have had a couple dealerships search for me. And at least one, refuse. All depends on how busy the parts guy is

If it's discontinued at the dealership, ask them to do a nationwide search for the part. There used to be a webpage for that. I found quite a few discontinued parts at various dealerships and had them shipped.

You can do the fuel pressure gauge anytime. Nothing wasted there.
