Mine doesn’t drop out because the dually fender allows me to slide my batteries out…..and this isn’t really a “how-to”, but this will show you it’s possible to relocate the batteries next to the frame rail. I didn’t put mine under the bed because I wanted to use that space for my intercooler...

    '95 Engine build

I took the stock battery tray, cut the indented portions out of it and then welded a piece of steel to the bottom to make it whole again. I think it was 11 gauge steel. It was tight, but it worked. It probably should have been sunk into the inner fender just a touch to make sure the hood...

This is my thread for the cold air intake I made for the Hoe. It worked well, but took up a lot of room and sucked to disassemble when something needed to be serviced. Thread 'My HX40 Cold Air Intake' https://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/threads/my-hx40-cold-air-intake.44283/

Yes sir. Now that I’ve found some iffy things and doing more than just an output shaft swap and reseal, I’ll be looking at all of it more closely as I reassemble.

I got the trans torn down today. The transmission had been rebuilt locally only a year or two before dad parked the green truck 7 years ago, so there wasn’t anything I needed to address other than to convert it to 4 wheel drive. However, once I started tearing it down I found a couple things I...

I had thought about adding extra deadening, but since it’s a gasser now, my dad was happy with his truck as-is, and with the amount of money I have spent on this lately…..I decided to just keep it stock.

Here’s a shot of the carpet in the same position as before for a good comparison. Here’s the “before” picture as a reminder: And now here’s the “after” from this morning: First thing I did was install the jute padding in the cab. I had removed it from the carpet because it was drying...

Thank you. That’s just where the needle fell to when handling the cluster. As far as I know it was operating properly when my dad was driving the truck.

Today I got the rest of the dash parts cleaned and installed. After that I cleaned the rest of the interior plastics so they’re ready for installation. And then finally I got the seats all cleaned. The carpet padding was still damp in a couple spots, but it got better through the day...

Uh yeah......carrying that soaked carpet in and getting it draped over that ladder was not a fun task!

A pressure washer is one of the things I haven't invested in yet, and really should have by now.

I started this afternoon cleaning the carpet for the truck. This is what I started with: This is what it looked like after attacking it with the shop vac: It’s hard to appreciate the transformation in this pic, but here it is after applying over a gallon of Folex carpet cleaner, scrub...

The motor I used for this build was the original 96 motor. I hooked it up to a battery and it was kinda noisy. I put some 3-n-1 on the bearing and it quieted down so I kept it.

Got the dash installed tonight. I started installing it last night, but then realized I hadn’t reinstalled the brake pedal and other brackets so I had to remove and then reinstall after getting that stuff done. I also installed the steering column, but forgot to take a picture after that...

Have you inspected the linkages to make sure the springs aren’t broken? From what you describe, I wonder if one of those could be broken.

More than likely. You should be able to watch the mode door actuator move if you switch it through the different modes while looking at the actuator from the driver’s footwell. As I recall, that actuator is visible from there without a ton of trouble, but my memory has turned to crap and I could...

They have a link to a YouTube video on their site for replacing the gear and they don’t say anything about timing. I just used the pictures I took to get the gears close when I reassembled.

The seals are molded into the door. They like to crack with age. These actually aren’t in terrible shape yet.
