Talked to the guys at Heath. 5.7 degrees is ok. Crank sensor unplugged it was 7.3 degrees. Not sure what that means. Anyway I swapped the drivers side injectors out from the old engine. No change. Quick question. Is #7 injector on tech 2 the same as # 7 on the engine? (drivers rear)...
It is their performance tune. Not sure if that is the GLE or GL4. Ditched the EGR and using an F code intake. I can call them tomorrow to check on where they want timing. Thanks buddy
-Just got the Heath tune about 3 weeks ago.
-Ive got a clear hose on the return line and haven't seen any bubbles. I wish I could see it while symptom occurs though.
-Yes I used tech 2 to set timing
-warm idle fuel rate is 9MM
-Ill poke around for a procedure on cleaning the OS.
What do you...
OK borrowed a tech 2. Heres what I got. "IP cam reference missed" This value hangs at zero but blips to 1 pretty regularly when I am feeling this "miss" Any idea what thats all about?
TDCO -1.94*
Desired timing 5.7*
Actual timing 5.7*
Idle speed 650-660 RPM
ECT 180*
Fuel rate 9mm
Boost PSI...
Put the clear return hose in. No bubbles. Drove truck. Still a little rough, but not like before. Did KOKO procedure. Ran as rough as before. Hooked up snap on Solace. In two separate areas it said TDC Offset 2.11 and in the other 3.00??!! When I tried to command TDCO learn it said "...
Take a look at all of the little rubber return lines that run from injector to injector. I have seen them leak intermittently. Even if you don't see an immediate problem and they look rough, replace them as PM. There are inexpensive kits on Ebay.
Put er back together tonight bled the system and fired it up. Still with the miss fire. Cracked all 8 injectors. It ran worse at all 8. I interpret that as it being a random misfire. I'm gonna grab some clear hose for the return line tomorrow. I'm thinking air. If I don't see bubbles I'm...
OK. Just found a compression tester on the harbor freight website. For $26. If my local store has one in stock im gonna go pick one up tomorrow. If all the cylinders I can get to pass, then Ill put it back together. My friend is supposed to get his scanner back from the snap on guy Friday...
OK I need some advice. Haven't been able to get my hands on a scan tool to kill cylinders. I took yet another listen with the stethoscope and I am confident that this clatter was coming from the left (driver) bank. So I pulled the trigger and tore it down to get the valve cover off really...
Seems logical that could be my issue. If the button breaks the rocker could slide down the shaft and away from the push rod and valve? Also causing some clatter that could be confused with fuel knock?
I have not set timing. Its definitely a dead hole. The truck ran super smooth on all 8 for the first couple trips around the block. Then started shaking when you give it throttle. No smoke which is odd to me. My glow plug harness connectors are pretty loose where they slide over the spades...
Well I got the Computer back and the truck ran great for a few miles. WAY more power than the stock tune. Let me tell you for those who havent dealt with Heath that they are a great company to deal with. Had a check engine light issue that I called them on that turned out to be 100% MY FAULT...
