what kind of boost would be safe with those gaskets? ive also considered the HX35 turbo, because i have read it gives the same amount of boost with less back pressure on the engine
on the wiring, i figured that out today. so which is better for the motor, the d-max fan and single stat or the dualstats, or both together? it gets hot around here (85-100*F) whenever i would ever use it for towing (i have pulling tractors, 26' enclosed car trailer, 7k) im after good power, but...
i have checked and confirmed there are no wires pinched. i checked for continuity to the gauge cluster today, and got two resistance readings, 92 ohms and 35 ohms. where should i start checking for this wire tomorrow when i get out there? where is it most likely to have shorted at? i dont think...
i checked the voltage at the post of the alternator. both only show 11.4-12.0 at the highest. could it still be that fuseable link? also, would the short have to be in the pink/black wire to pop the fuse?
what all does the gauge fuse control? after the flexplate being fixed, i went to start the truck, and the gauge fuse blew. replaced it, it blew again immediately. i also found out the hard way today that it is no longer charging. replaced the alternator, still no charge. where could this...
guess i need to add a wiring harness to the list too. after the flexplate change this weekend, it pops the gauge fuse and quit charging, some sort of dead short back behind the motor. the harness is pretty cut and cobbled on anyways.
now that i need to fix up my '93 i would like some opinions on what i should do to the motor/transmission to make it a nice vehicle again. im open to anything, as long as itll stay together for a long time. its going to be a daily driver, an occasional towing vehicle. what should be done (other...
correction. i got it to push 7 pounds of boost by running it balls to the wall up a hill. ill put the turbomaster on my new motor, yes the truck won the battle and im putting my 599 block on the stand together for the 93. the current motor (which i discovered isnt original) leaks oil like a siv...
this flexplate was also broken around the center, but the 3, yes 3, transmission bolts had backed out of the back of the motor. once we got it down, we discovered there were broken off bolts in all the rest of them. we did not have time to get it any better today, and we need it this week, so we...
the previous one was broken right around the bolt holes on the crank, i dont have it anymore, the shop that changed it does. ill find out where this one is broken and get some pictures of it tomorrow
yeah, i didnt think it was broke, but i know if a balancer comes apart it can break a crank, happened on my 95. ill check it all out tomorrow, as im going to change the flexplate tomorrow
well, after i finally got my boost gauge, i was coming back home and the flexplate broke. i know thats what it was, because its already done it once. what can cause this thing to keep breaking flexplates? this is two in three months..
ill check it out tomorrow. ive been ready to put an IP on it, just wanted to wait until it warmed up to do it. also, does it matter any that i can hear tha miss more noticeably on the passenger side of the engine than the drivers side? also, i noticed the other day (since i dont normally get to...
the boost gauge actually wont be an issue on mine. one of the previous owners instaled a banks powerpack system, so they already have the fitting for the boost gauge and pyro they are just capped off
i had a 94 suburban do this to me. gave me absolute fits for months. 2 new VSS's, eventually gave up on it. it might have been the VSSb, looking back on it now
