I showed my wife the truck and she said “WHY do you need another project?” Haha, mind you- I asked her to stop me from getting into anymore projects until my hummer and my 43 Willy’s are both on the road. Then I said “No, not for me, but thats a good project for someone with that package of...

If it was local and I could verify compression is ok and not a cracked #7 or #8 cylinder- I would give $500 for it. See… there is a db2 hiding beyond those two cables- and the second cable is cruise control. Unless that engine is fully toasted or there is a lot of rust I don’t see- thats a...

    Wanted DB2 working condition

I am considering buying N.O.S. DB2 from a government auction sight but would also have to buy a 12v solenoid and a TPS for it. The other option: I am wondering if anyone has a working db2 for sale. I don’t need it in new condition but has to be decent enough that it is going to allow me to...

Ideally the clutch wears out just as it goes out of spec. But assembly line adjustment errors happen. You might be able to adjust the clutch. The he problem is, if you get it to tight, it won’t want to shut off. So if you adjust it, go from the middle to the upper range of clearance. Adjust...

94' GMC Sierra v8 wiring issues

On the gas engines- the fuel pump burns up easily when the filter doesn’t get charged often enough. Filter is inside frame under driver door. Whenever you run the tank dry- it will pull in every small bit if debris in the tank and plug the filter. As mentioned- after putting in 5 gallons...

That is bad install. Someone knocked the cap off- a bearing falls then gets shoved back on. SMH. Same mistake can happen with greaseable ones.

40 year old truck… probably about due to have both diffs gone through. It isn’t that old trucks don’t have monthly payments- they do. It’s just the average is lower by time you get to the end of the year. Get it on jack stands, remove cover- examine and make videos. All you waste is the...

Welcome. Post a few pics of your engine bay. If your fuel filter is a huge cube- long term plan on removing that system and getting a spin on set up. The cubes are known nightmares for leaking fuel, sucking air. You have two “fuel pumps”. Learn the difference and what you have. First is...

Oil change interval is a trade off- save money& time on oil change vs longer engine life. Buy a Frantz bypass filter & add to truck. Worth the cost. Then you can have oil tested by places like Blackstone Labs. Stay with 3,000 mile until they tell you it can be extended. Squeak- either...

NOT GREASE!! silicone spray. Many companies make it- including wd40 but the cans look similar so don’t mix them up if you buy that brand. $7 - $20 per can depending on brand. Any water based silicone spray will work good and not damage anything and won’t attract/ hold dirt to gum up later...

    Electric Fan clutch

I do believe you should be running a trinary switch (3 wire) to send signal to a fan controller even if just an electric fan. Not the binary (2 wire) that is stock

The other way to go is if you spend even more money… Find some gearing that is really for hiway use and horrible towing/acceleration like some 2.72:1 or 2.41:1. Then replace your transfer case for an Atlas 3 speed or Atlas 4 speed made by Advanced Adapters...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

I used number stamps just like post # 226 for years and never had any issues. You don’t do it to a high performance build - but anything a 6.5 is capable of, it won’t affect it.

Flashing; Castings; sand pocket; Removal. Oil return flow improvements done during rebuild.

Here is another random one. I know there are some excellent videos of race legends that show how to, & show porting oil passages & such. But maybe they are gone so they can sell the info? Anyways- i watched this guy’s one video - he doesn’t show anything crazy wrong. It should give the...

How it is done in modern factories isn’t often shared because of trade secrets- basically Toyota doesn’t wanna share their system with GM. But here is the jist of why it isn’t a problem in modern manufacturing
