What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

My wife is down here in Fullerton for a follow-up medical appointment with her retina surgeon (all is good, eye is doing well after cataract surgery). She drove her 2014 4Runner “Priscilla” and I rolled it past 422K miles yesterday. Engine runs like new, same mpg, no oil consumption or leaks...

OK here’s what AI had to say on this: https://www.google.com/search?q=1995+4L80e+can+it+be+used+in+a+1994%3F&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari Based on that, I’ll just have the 94 4L80e rebuilt for the 94 and the 99 rebuilt for the 99, in that order.

That current 99 came out of a 95 and had 12K miles on it. Works perfectly in the 99 after modifying the hoses and should work just fine in the 94.

Update: Wayne texted me saying the shift shaft to the transfer case binds, preventing it from shifting to 4 Lo. He could either tear apart the case to assess the shift shaft, or buy a new NVG-246 transfer case. Transfer case was a new reman unit purchased and installed Spring of 2022 with...

Update: Wayne has the ABS working on the ‘99 Suburban. The ABS has not worked since I bought the truck in 2010. The sole remaining thing to do is to get 4 Low working. My wife dropped off her 4Runner plus two new AC Delco Encoder motors for the ‘99 Suburban. Hopefully, he can address the...

    Chinese 6.5 block

I have a seized (lost oil pressure due to oil stainless cooler line rubbing through on the engine mount) 506 engine sitting in a crate in my garage in Montana. Intention is to disassemble and inspect the block. Heads are already promised to a member here. I will not magniflux the block, only...

Eagle Watch texted me that I blew the fuse to the Transfer Case Control Module, so that is back to the before scenario with 2Hi, 4Hi and AWD all working, but still no 4Lo. I have two brand new AC Delco encoder motors, but they are set to neutral. Transfer case will not go into neutral. You have...

Offer the guy $150 for both. No way he gets $180 each, especially for local pick-up. Just not that many 6.5s out there. I will send you a check. One will go to Paveltolz so I can shut down his thread. My wife can come pick them up sometime during the Summer. By then I should have the heads...

    Front Differential Leak

I’ve forever had a slight leak (does not spot the pavement when parked) where the front driveshaft attaches to the front differential. The new 6.5 Optimizer install has pretty much eliminated the oil filter adapter as the source. I would like to replace the seal where the driveshaft yoke...

Need 4” exhaust from muffler back

I got the section from the muffler back installed. Had to trim the end of the tailpipe as it stuck out too far. Could not remove the stainless cover from the old tailpip, but I have a new one down in Fullerton. Replaced the rear hanger as the metal strap was broken, leaving it hanging lower and...

Or cut the ear off the one you’re trying to repair and glue (weld) it onto the broken one. I have similar one missing the ear off the RF position (thanks son). Maybe we could make one whole. It cost me $20 to have it welded up.

Do you have the broken off ear? I have a friend who welded one of mine back together and it has worked great.
