    5.7 diesel up and running

Probably won't pick up much big stuff as it's probably caught by the heater core or rad

6.5 running like crap after new IP install

The snap on mt2500 will work to set it but the number value is off. If he gets desperate he could always use the koko method and just read the value with a scanner

6.5 running like crap after new IP install

IIRC the gmdt will work with obd2. Never actually used that software so I could be off

6.5 running like crap after new IP install

What year truck the pump came off doesn't really matter 99.9% of the time. There was an oddball pump in 94 but it's pretty rare to find one now. The number on that pump was 5068

6.5 running like crap after new IP install

As Doug said most scanners won't do or read it correctly

6.5 running like crap after new IP install

So on a 98 you can ignore all the time set stuff. That's for obd1. Go right to tdco learn get your number and then adjust to get the tdco you want. I'm wondering if you're stuck in time set and the computer is trying to adjust while it's running.

so you do realize the timing number should have a - in front of it. Also I didn't see a TDCO number which is the main thing you're looking at. What year truck?

    My new truck

there are some changes best would be to rebuild the 94 to make sure there's no issues. after 96or97 they're pretty much interchangeable aside from TC

    95 gasser temp sensor.

So near as I can tell the logic on how the fan is controlled is that it engages the fan mostly for AC and the switch in the head is more of a the engine is getting to hot so let's turn on the fan

    95 gasser temp sensor.

Actually it comes on at 234* and off at 211*. I understand why the fan wouldn't work for us Will I'm just surprised the GM engineers didn't think we'd need it.

    95 gasser temp sensor.

So you are indeed correct as usual glagulator. There is an electric fan in front of the cooling stack . I never would have guessed. It also makes me question why the diesels didn't have one.

    95 gasser temp sensor.

No problem. So to update what I've learned so far. Yes the one at the thermostat is for the ECM. I had a scanner on it and could watch it go to -40 when unplugged. Drivers side is definitely for the gauge so what I don't know is the purpose or function of the one on the passenger side.

    95 gasser temp sensor.

Upstream about 8-10" there a funky plastic block that has 2 wires going into it and some sorta diode or resistor in it.
  14. ak diesel driver

    95 gasser temp sensor.

Or are they using that sensor to signal the ECM?
  15. ak diesel driver

    95 gasser temp sensor.

Wouldn't it have electric fans then?
  16. ak diesel driver

    95 gasser temp sensor.

Posted this here to get the most views/response. Helping a friend with his 95 k2500 454 truck. Has 2 temp sensors one on driver's side for the gauge one on pass side for the ECM. So the pass side sensor is broken barely all there. We cannot find the sensor that fits the plug. I've gone through...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

I don't think this ever had a bolt on cutting edge until I put one on it.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Have you tried adjusting the dash lights?

Need 4” exhaust from muffler back

Make sure the kit you get uses the ball and socket where the down pipe joins to the rest. Much easier to get it in correctly
