    It's usually the PCM that get's stuck in that mode. If you had a different PCM you could get the IP adjusted and maybe that would kick the PCM loose

    Those OBD1 systems can be a bugger to get out of that -2.02 mode. If you set the IP so the top of it is level it should be in the ball park. Then start it and immediately try to do time set. No waiting at all. Might have to do the resistor mod to fool the ECM that it's up to temp.

    I've seen the brass ones come loose. Never seen a steel one come loose, they can rust out if you have coolant issues

    Around here we have to have a base or footer under the sonotubes. We use a lot of the big foot brand ones. Need the base for both down pressure and frost heave. I've seen water wells break the pit less from the well case being lifted by the Frost

    If you're doing sono tubes there's no reason to use PT. Just use a post base that has a built-in stand off.

    May not be the same down there as it is here but there's 2 different types of PT ones is called ground contact the other is buryable. Most of the bigger items use the buryable

    You should be able to find a contact area width. The width is how heat transfer is controlled.
