    Aluma seal or bars leaks ? ? ? ?

Air pressure and dish soap… I don’t like the sounds of that. Filling full of water and using a regular pressure tester tool should generate any leak. Parts stores usually have them available on the free rental program. For the hose ends- sometimes you can get a hose that just connects the...

    Aluma seal or bars leaks ? ? ? ?

JB Weld. The old slow cure stuff. Used it dozens of times and never a failure. Couple quick scrubs with a steel brush, rinse with a little water then let it dry. Mix up the JB 50/50 and put it on so that its about size of a quarter. Dab it in so a bit goes into the hole.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

One night of leaving on the power beats up batteries yes, but lower than normal batteries should simply kick the alternator into work. And your alternator is NOT producing. Test with a good meter at the battery. This tests the alternator and the wiring. If it isn’t producing (which yours...

Crossover is easy enough to swap & test…

The sensors for it are crucial as well. And as AKdd points out- some engines run hotter than others - multiple factors generate more heat before it gets to the job of cooling system to regulate it. This is why I pointed out having used the different crossovers & stats on the SAME ENGINE.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Something definitely isn’t happy. Did you ever put an actual voltage meter on the batteries while running to compare to the dash gauge? 14.4 is the desired rate when batteries are charging

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Ive done swaps on the same truck in fleet and on my personal 99 when we were trying to figure it out. To be fair, the 195 stat would move the ect gauge more but keep it steady under or at 195 where as the duals would allow the 210 to happen- exactly opposite of what Big T has in his two...

‘98 6.5 TD stalled while driving and current no start

Glad that put ya on track. That added power you feel…running @ 2psi on the 5/16 fuel line — she has the better LP & larger line the whole way, you are gonna feel that bump in power again even if you don’t change the turbo control yet. You felt roughly 65% and the other 35% is trapped in the...

Look in my signature. Block off thermostat option. Follow the link. Look at the size of those two. If a person is worried about flow restrictions through thermostat(s)- this would have maximum ability. Also for the dual stats vs single- It was already actually tested years ago. The...

    Timekeeper explosion in P400

Nope. That oil line comes out of the front of the block. The oil supply under pressure is the camshaft galley for everything on top half of the engine.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I can’t post a link right now, but on YouTube there is plenty of videos teaching how to form fit rubber and silicone hoses. As to the batteries and all- get that $20 battery tester from harbor freight. Get a battery tender charger to keep them topped off if needed from sitting or getting...

    98 6.5 trouble

Jeffy, welcome. PMD is suspect. But read & learn first: A low dollar code reader at a minimum should be owned. Dont buy one yet- lets learn more before spending money…. Never just start replacing parts aka firing the parts cannon. There is no faster way to go broke and create more issues as...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Funniest thing I heard of and used was a couple raw eggs. They cruise around the system and get poached when it gets sprayed out the leak. It doesn’t plug anything up and cleans out easily. I never heard of it till I had a bad water pump seal on a trip through death valley. Worked like a...

That would be cool as valve covers. I hate to see the price of having some made.

Hey- awesome they could find it for you! Back years ago when i wrenched on them for my grub- that type of info was rare. I wasn’t in a freightliner dealership but the fleet I ran was a preferred customer for them buying several rigs yearly.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

No to the one in your picture. That is a piece of junk from a hummer/hmmwv. No block off. That belongs in the scrap bin. I haven’t destroyed mine just so I can teach from it. I should drill it full of holes to ensure no one ever uses it once I’m dead. I had the wrong part number for...

This site is more for pickups. But I and others put food on the table wrenching or driving big boy trucks. I doubt you’ll find an answer to the fan question. First you need to specify a fan. What engine, then which fan because an FL 60 is mighty different than say a new Cascadia. Then...
