I don’t think flywheel is an issue it’s new from perfection clutch it sounds good now when engaged

I found the direct drive starter at Napa i installed it with shims and no binding and starter works great just need the bracket that holds it the gear reduction bracket won’t work

The flywheel is also for the 6.2 setup

The donor truck was a 1997 Chevy 3500 dually 6.5 Td automatic

I’m using the 6.5 starter

Btw it has 139 teeth on flywheel I just counted

That’s all I asked...... advice on where i needed to look for the problem I have 27 years experience automotive mechanic I have never done this 6.5 swap and unfortunately nobody told me these things lol

We also dumped advance auto for poor quality parts and they won’t stand behind warranty

Be my luck I’ll order a replacement acdelco starter and it eats the flywheel completely apart lol

For giggles I had auto zone replace the starter and it didn’t help a bit
