Went on a fuel run today, bunch of 30+ year old diesel fuel that I've been running for awhile. HD makes a solid tow rig up to 60mph, cruised at 55mph for most of the trip. Total weight about 18-20k. Mentioned it before but the factory GM turbo really does make a decent exhaust brake hahaha...

Yea, I'd love to be down around 2000-2200rpm cruising at 70, but WW is right. With 225/70/19.5"s (32"s), 5.13 gears and .75od from the trans 60mph puts the truck at 2450rpm. Eventually will regear so towing at 70mph will be good but that won't happen until after the engine gets some performance...

I remember that being the preference when new turbos were first being tested, HX40 and ATT needed 2000+rpm which is an issue with the nv4500. Curious how the new super 54 compares.

No arguement that the ATT, hx35/40, super 54/60, all are far better turbos than the GMx. Torque coverter doesn't do my 3500hd any good, nv4500hd trans.
