How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Being you have a turbo, I would go with the short ones, they are designed for turbo use. others can chime in on what is best for your setup.

94 gmc 6.5 turbo deisel sputtering

Yup, but that's only on the short steel lines coming off the IP going to each injector. that's low pressure compared to the newer diesels that produce upwards around 20k to 30k PSI !

94 gmc 6.5 turbo deisel sputtering

the bubble fare I mentioned is simply to give something for the rubber fuel hose grip when you slip it over the line and clamp it. this way it won't push off the steel line under pressure. the LP should only be pushing 8-14 PSI up to the IP.. the steel lines from the IP to the each of the...

94 gmc 6.5 turbo deisel sputtering

the vacuum hose should run from the pot on the turbo over to a small solenoid located on top of the drivers side valve cover, then from there direct to the vacuum pump. if you have an EGR then there will be two of those solenoids, one for the turbo and one for the EGR. trace those hoses to...

94 gmc 6.5 turbo deisel sputtering

Be sure to get the clear tubing installed on the IP return too. I would do this before trying to pull apart anything fuel related or installing filters. also if you engine is fully electronic, (no real throttle cables to the IP) you will have a vacuum operated waste gate on the turbo, there...

94 gmc 6.5 turbo deisel sputtering

If your are ok with buying online here are a couple of links. keep in mind with amazon, they do not honor the full warranty period but supposedly you can get that direct from AC Delco by this seller only, I have not confirmed this. Now Summit Racing on the other hand will honor warranties...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Welp, problem solved. got home from work and grabbed the spare battery and tools. headed out with my wife to where here trailblazer was. popped the hood and first thing I noticed was a faint odor of rotten eggs! the battery... pulled it out and installed the spare and it fired right up...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Have your son sign up here on the forum and join in on the fun! if he needs help we can all chime to assist too. Hope the photos help. even better if he's got a mirror on a stick and a good camera with good lighting, he can try looking on the under side of the injectors for a part number...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Here are more pics. these are the short body injectors, take note of my index finger barley under the body nut against the head on the #1. also note the height of the head bolt to the injector body nut. a long body injector would sit about 1/4" higher than these. the top section of the...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Attention fellas and fellets! Injector class is now in session..... 🤣 Here is the visual differences between the non-turbo 6.2L aka: tall body injectors and the turbo 6.5L aka: short body injectors. I took some pics of the two side by side along with a couple of pics of the short body...

94 gmc 6.5 turbo deisel sputtering

if you plan to go factory OEM style part, use the ac delco EP-158. it's the better of the ones available. I have this installed on mine, but there are modifications needed to connect the lines. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PYAW10I There are many other aftermarket and much better options...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Hoping that all, something simple! My son couldn't find the portable jump starter at the house, so I'm having him put a spare side post battery I had in the garage on the charger making sure it's hot. that way when I get off work I can grab it and some tools, do a battery swap and hopefully...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Maybe there is hope... I have an onboard GPS connected to her trailblazer which also will report operating conditions and trouble codes to me through the app. when she called me the GPS hadn't reported anything, but now I look at it and it's reporting the battery voltage critically low...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Well, I'm keeping my hopes up hoping it's a blown fuse or battery voltage is low. I can handle that, but if it's an ECM problem, Oh boy! The fun part is I don't think there are any tow point on the front end so I will have to figure out what I can hook to to pull it home if I can get it to...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Welp!! when it rains it pours!! wifey called me while at work to say she's stranded in town with here trailblazer.... wonderful I said. Had my son go out there to see if he could help, but it's doing some weird stuff that leads me to think electric gremlins have attacked. Key on, all...

94 gmc 6.5 turbo deisel sputtering

I would think you have air getting into the fuel system. replace your return line on the IP which is a 1/4" hose about 6" in length located right in the front of the IP up top. replace it with some clear tubing you can get at most any hardware store. id does not need to be fuel rated, run...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

could have been, but 30 years ago they still made "real" steel LOL it's the same thing in the stores now, same size package, same label, higher price, but less food inside!
