    506 BLOCK WORTH ANYTHING?

Ok everyone, I have several GM diesel engines that I have acquired and I would like to build one of them using some of the leftover parts that I have. So the parts that I have that are worth anything are as follows... Harland Sharp 1.6:1 Roller Rockers, new P400 rockers & shafts, Heath Towing...

    P400 in the Burb install

As you know Chris when I first installed this pump I had to advance it as far as it would physically go to the advanced position just to get it to run pretty much at all. Then I put my spare newly remaned .310 pump on it and it ran good but did the same thing as far as spitting unburnt sooty...

    P400 in the Burb install

No it's raw fuel coming out between the head and the exhaust manifold. But it runs great, I'm not saying 400 hp great but it runs pretty dang good. Just like when it was coming out of the # 2 cylinder which was the reason the motor had to be pulled to get the heads redone. But back then only the...

    P400 in the Burb install

Well guys, I've been trying shake down and break in the the P400 in the Burb and here's where I'm at. I have a total of 55 miles on it and basically when I drive it I let it warm up and then try and do some wide open throttle pulls and try to watch the gauges. It's pretty hard to watch all 6 of...

    1997 DS4 trouble shooting

Hey guys I going to look at a 1997 GM truck with a 6.5 engine. So it has a new DS4 Injection pump along with a new PMD . So it has fuel pressure from the lift pump but no fuel at the injectors when you crack the injector line while turning it over. I don't have a whole lot of experience with the...

    P400 in the Burb install

Since we are talking about heat, so I added a DELCO by VIN # coolant temp sensor to the port at the right rear #8 pipe thread sensor hole. And I ran the wire through the OEM harness up to the OEM sensor in the front left side of the head and I installed bullet type connector so I could use...

    P400 in the Burb install

This truck has never pulled a trailer heavy enough to need trailer brakes (two place snowmobile trailer, 21 ft go fast boat) and the engine that was replaced under warranty back in like 1997 was a 506 squirter block and it never pulled anything heavy and it had blow by and ate at least a quart...

    P400 in the Burb install

I agree with you Chris, I added 1 pint of this... Is 1 pint enough? I've got Rotella in it right now.

    P400 in the Burb install

Hey guys I'm about to get this thing on the road and I would like opinions on the proper break in procedure, especially how to break in the Total Seal rings. Everything has been done to keep this engine running cool so I'm not sure that I can get enough heat built up to seat the piston rings. Do...

    P400 in the Burb install

Hey Nate, remember this? I can mount it to the front side of the bracket if I feel the need for it along with higher lift pump pressures.

    P400 in the Burb install

Nate, I think you have me beat as fare as after market components under the hood, like the intercooler, fuel pressure regulator, coolant filter and then all of that fancy electrical work. And if we matched entire truck aftermarket components you really got me beat. I wished I had your talent and...

    P400 in the Burb install

DING DING DING! Will won! it is the fuel return system coming from the rear injectors. The gauge by the master cylinder is for my pre oiler pump with the OEM oil pressure switch along with an adjustable pressure switch. Does everyone know what the component to the right of the fuel return log is?
