Took the ‘99 Suburban in to have the wheels road force balanced and the alignment done. They had to dismount the tires and vacuum out the balance beads in order to do the road force balance properly. Results were a significant improvement, though there is still a tiny pulse at speeds of 70 to 75...
Geez you’ve been through hell on this. I’ve been there on the ‘94 and you helped diagnose it with the loaner IP. Hope you finally get this resolved so you can enjoy the truck.

A P0251 code on a 6.5L diesel engine typically indicates a problem with the fuel injection pump's optical sensor or camshaft position sensor circuit. This sensor, which reads the rotation of the...
That Ghia is like going back in time for me. I started my DIY mechanic career on air cooled VW engines. Are those dual Weber carburetors? Where’s the turbo?
The crack is not in the normal places at the screws on top, which tells me it cracked there from something impacting it. I watched the video on removing it and it’s something I could do in about an hour.
I have a lead on a replacement dash, but have some questions.
What’s involved in removing the dash? I’ve dumped the entire dash before to replace the heater core, but can you pull the plastic dash off from what’s under it. Is this a massive effort?
Seller sent me pics from a ‘99 Tahoe he’s...
The ‘99 was experiencing pulse from the front end particularly at speeds of 70 to 80 mph. Tires are brand new and have the balance beads installed. Pulse is up and down, but I felt like the wheels had a rapid wobble to them.
So this morning I went through everything the front end. All ball...
Got the new tensioner installed. I then inspected the serpentine belt and it was cracked and had pieces of ribbing missing. Brought it with me to NAPA and got a 100-5/8" length belt. Initially (before starting and running the truck) the tensioner was far to the driver's side such that mark was...
I had try it. After adjusting the rear brakes to correct the brake pull and rapidly locking rear left wheel, I suddenly got a rapid fire pulse vibration on heavy stops from 70 mph on down. It’s not the drums. Everything I read, based on the vibration at speed, it’s due to out of balance tires...
