Nice. We're actually running a house like that right now, built in 1967. The new barns are crazy. 66' wide by 596' long. over 50,000 birds in each, with cool cells at one end, and 14 54" fans at the other end. Crazy big.
So, it's not exactly a project, but this is probably still the best place for this. I've switched jobs, my dad founded a company that will be raising chickens in IA, MN and WI, and I've taken a job with the company, I'll be dealing with mainly equipment and logistics once we get things rolling...
I think we can manage regular maintenance, but anything beyond a busted hose or something might need a service call. Nearest dealer to our shop is about 40 min, same as cat or Bobcat.
I like the ease for getting in and out for my big size (6'6", not underweight, lol), I like being able to get in and out with the arm up or down, the visibility is awesome. FWIW, they have a lifetime warranty on the arm itself. It's built heavy. The one I drove I pushed into a big pile of dirt...
I think I replaced the batteries in our 05, delivered August 05, 2 years ago. No way anything you get will match that quality, even AC Delcos. I already had to replace the OEM battery in our 2011 Suburban, and replaced the Interstate that was in my 2009 Yukon last Sunday, which means this is...
Been looking for a couple skid steers, and I've always been interested in the JCB's since I saw them years ago. I like the side-door entry/exit, and the single boom interests me. I'd be looking at a 260, 280 or bigger, with the high-flow hydraulics. I'd be using them in chicken barns with a...
I know, just being a smartass mostly. It's all for emissions and efficiency I'm sure. Same reason all the semi trailers have the tails and the shrouding underneath, etc...
Fuel Efficiency and aerodynamics, bruh. If you wanna go off road, throw a off road bumper on the biotch. For the 99% that hit a logging trail or a farm field at worst, they're fine.
