Yes, just cut to your required length and re-drill 4 holes in the bottom of the rail to bolt the rails to the plastic bases.
Only issue I could see is making your cuts right so the middle braces fall symmetrically. They "slip" into the bottom of the rails via quare cut outs.
That's my thought, but of course they aren't bad enough to visually tell by plug. I wanted to go look at fuel trims again, but I'm just running out of time before our trip
Cranking the miles on as a daily driver. Been noticing as I did a bunch of City driving that there is still a small bit of rough idle. Maybe a fluctuation of 100 to 200 rpm. Not throwing any codes at the moment and all monitors have been run.
Going to have a shop put it on the scanner tomorrow...
Frigging salt.
High has been 25 F. So no car washes yet. They have laid the salt so heavy all the roads are dust bowls. It's gonna be 40 F Tuesday but pour rain, then right back down into the teens end of this week. Roller coaster.
I think I have a front passenger wheel bearing going. I get...
Ok, will get some on it tonight. Going to swap out the vent valve hopefully at lunch today. It's in the teens here and the Yukon is Fluid Filmed. Part of me is wondering if I over sprayed that canister and it's plugged.
First CEL code popped up today. Was initially worried that I didn't cure my issue. I have about 150 miles on it since the parts cannon.
It's a P0449, issue with the vent solenoid down at the charcoal canister. In research it's most commonly the vent solenoid itself, but could also be the purge...
Luckily mine is nearly a bolt on swap! Same body style truck essentially. My current rack has 6 bolts per rail, this new one has 7 bolts per rail. I will be omitting the 7th attachment point and all should be fine.
Spent time today cleaning more. A quick polish, its still pitted pretty bad...
Dis-assembled and rinsed. Lots of parts to this thing. It was nasty, spent the last bit of its time under a pine tree.
Gonna throw a quick buff on the chrome tomorrow at lunch then start to re-assemble.
Ended up pulling another item at the junkyard. I've had my hopes set on a Z71 roof rack swap for a while now. I just couldnt ever get lucky with a Suburban in the JY, it was always Tahoes which are too short. Mostly just for looks although I do strap quite a bit to the roof of this thing, it...
Went to the local JY this weekend. One single flex fuel 02-07c that was in ROUGH shape. Out of 8 injectors, only 2 had plastic bodies that weren't cracked. So I grabbed them.
Set up a jig to blow Brakleen through them and they both sprayed well. Swapped out my suspect injector. Ended up having...
Wow crazy. Their "stock" pictures show GM Genuine and Separate AC Delco parts and numbers. That's misleading as hell!
I already tried swapping coils and plugs. Still extensive wetness to plug #6 after each run and pull for inspection. All other plugs on that bank loom good.
I appreciate that AK. We are leaving for FL the end of this month hopefully woth the Yukon for comfort and space so I am in a bit of a time crunch.
I went on RA and found new GM injectors for $90 each. That's a bit wild to replace them all at this moment, but I think I am going to the junkyard...
Messed with it more (touching wiring, ect) and the cel is now off. Not clue if it was anything I did. It definitely still has a noticeable shake to the idle, for now going to try and drive it on some short trips. Going to throw some new plugs at it too.
It is going in for alignment on Tuesday, so I may have them spend some diagnostic time on it too if they can. I have a feeling they will back me up, but this isnt my specialty. Its so tough now even on an 05 without serious scanner capability.
Thats another item on my radar is compression test. I asked my buddy to bring his over later.
One other thing I have heard relations of, are pre-converter O2s. Ive never replaced wither of those in my ownership but looking at live scanner data they are oscillating voltage what seems normal to...
Tried the OBD Auto Doctor and TechScan which is basically OBDWiz. They all pull up $06 data, but it is in hex code and I just cant correlate that to what the scanner is readying from charts found online. One per my understanding is GM has never released the true correlation data unlike Ford has...
I actually do have a SGII in the Yukon, but it doesn't have PIDs for the items I need. It's good for monitoring more than the dash and checking lamens codes for sure. Due to the super generic PO300 code it's throwing and that code only, you need to go through a diagnostic procedure. This is one...
I like the Autel stuff alot. I will look into it to see if they offer something for a Windows OS to use my OBDLink EX ELM327 cable.
If I have to spend some $ i would also like to get a program that does SRS and ABS as well.
