Built the drawer for the passenger side rear box where the band saw and plasma cutter get stored. Band saw will be bolted down, plasma cutter will get something to organize the hose/electrical parts. Thinking maybe 3 upright arms at the back of the tray to hang those on.
Kept the bow up...
Certainly took long enough to get back to it, the electrical junction box under the bed is now wired in. Not difficult to do just been busy with other stuff and the trailer move. Next is the brake controller then to do some work on the trailer.
Added some E track to tie down cargo and began the first test fit with the gin pole legs. Lift pump went out on me so replaced the OPS and installed a Walbro FRB-5 (been redesigned, rated for 10psi). Plugged into the stock harness it wasn't kicking on so temporarily ran the pump power directly...
Says it's compatible with diesel fuel, 1gpm is = to 60gph so flow should be great. Not finding a duty cycle rating which could be the killer (needs to be %100 duty cycle).
The military 6.2 has a 24 volt starter and the brackets to mount 2 alternators/no ac compressor. The military engine has no EGR system which the 1/2 ton does have.
Was helping my friend and his dad work on their tractor (trailer is being stored on their ranch). His dad was looking the trailer over "Hell you have a lathe, band saw, injector tester, ...... wanna sell all this stuff to me?" hahahaha
Curious what's wrong with the FRB-5 for the DS4 pump trucks? Maybe it's a redesign but the specs on Walbro's site have it at a higher GPH and PSI than the "more correct" pump models. 45 GPH and 8-11psi for the FRB-5.
Going through the same debate right now since my lift pump just died on the...
Bed corners trimmed. My trailer has a short gooseneck on it so they needed to be trimmed some for clearance. Let me be clear that the bed is not going to stay this way but it will work for now.
There is a relief valve in the pump, when the steering is cranked all the way to the stops and you keep pulling on the steering wheel you can hear it open up.
Bad rebuilds are a good possibility. Bored the cylinder out but still running the original sized seals that are now too small, wouldn't...
If you have the equipment to move them the containers that the military uses for spare engines are a good option. Fully sealed, stackable, lets the engine remain assembled. But they weigh as much as the engine does
It's got 5.13 axle gears, rpm's match for the speed/math. Rear axle must have been rebuilt at some point since the tag on the diff cover bolt says 4.63. The fact that they were running 245/70/19.5"s on 1 hub and 225/70/19.5"s on the other hub probably lead to the rebuild. Amsoil in the...
Yea all it did was transfer some paint to my bumper, don't think the driver realized he hit the truck. Going off the video his car must be scratched around the rear door/quarter panel area though. Gonna swing by the local PD on monday just to give them a heads up. I'm not worried about the...
Found out something interesting, my little 4k generator should be able to run the plasma cutter but for some reason it can't. So I had to bring the cutter to the garage in town (HOA can't bitch if the stuff is done in the garage). Got to slicin and dicin parts of the rusty flatbed out for the...
