    ‘99 AC stopped working

AC stopped working. Checked fuses on side of dash and they are good. The dash HVAC switch panel is new and has been working. The variable speed control was not ahowing much change between Low and Hi, but Hi was working full on. Could this be the resistor going out?

‘99 K2500 Suburban Steering Clean Up

After a weekend of off-roading and camping, I took the Suburban in for a revisit on alignment because it was steering to the left. The alignment tech confirmed some issues that I was seeing: 1) Outer tied rod on passenger side was loose (again) in the knuckle. Obviously I over did it with the...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Or my ABS which works infrequently (less than 10% of the time), or my transfer case which now has 3 of 4 settings working, only missing 4 Low, or my formerly variable speed wipers which now only has two speeds and decides to shut off only when it feels like it, not when I shut it off.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Well you can always make fun of my early locking left rear wheel, or my dash that’s shaking apart from front end wheel vibration at 70+ mph, or the rattles inside my driver’s door, or my Pioneer head unit which only partially works in many respects.

I believe the remaining pulse may be from the slight feathered wear in the tires from prior to road force balancing. I will try rotating the tires.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Took the ‘99 Suburban in to have the wheels road force balanced and the alignment done. They had to dismount the tires and vacuum out the balance beads in order to do the road force balance properly. Results were a significant improvement, though there is still a tiny pulse at speeds of 70 to 75...

The two stroke dye won’t cause any issues. I’ve run it many times. Red dye diesel also will not cause issues.

    DTC P0251

Are you saying the brand new Stanadyne IP which costs $2700 failed on you? That AC Delco reman I got for $794 is running strong.

    DTC P0251

Geez you’ve been through hell on this. I’ve been there on the ‘94 and you helped diagnose it with the loaner IP. Hope you finally get this resolved so you can enjoy the truck.

https://www.google.com/search?q=GM+6.5+diesel+DTC+2051&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari A P0251 code on a 6.5L diesel engine typically indicates a problem with the fuel injection pump's optical sensor or camshaft position sensor circuit. This sensor, which reads the rotation of the...

That Ghia is like going back in time for me. I started my DIY mechanic career on air cooled VW engines. Are those dual Weber carburetors? Where’s the turbo?

If those were forged lower control arms, the shock mount would be bolted on. I’m confident your front end is a bigger shit show than my ‘99.

    For Dashboards needing repair

They have a replica dash for 92-94 GMT 400 trucks and it goes for $449.95. If the 96-99 is the same price, that could be a viable option.

    For Dashboards needing repair

The crack is not in the normal places at the screws on top, which tells me it cracked there from something impacting it. I watched the video on removing it and it’s something I could do in about an hour.
