I got one set of pads loaded into the calipers. Should not have been doing this after 12 hours of travel by air and car from SoCal.
Calipers came with spring clips as did the pads. I went back and forth with the clips to see which would work. Went back to the caliper clips this am and got a set...
Started on rear brakes on the 2014 4Runner after arriving at our Montana home. Encountered problems loading the pads into the calipers and ended up breaking off half the friction material on one pad. The tabs on the pad just would not go in on the piston side of the caliper. The calipers are...
Just install the new plastic retainers. This things were not designed for the bolt mod. Although the bolt mod looks cool, there is no evidence that the mod is better than the plastic retainers.
If it’s air getting in the fuel system overnight. Heat has nothing to do with the confirmation of anything. It is all about the purging of air in the fuel system, which then leaks down again after sitting overnight.
I don’t know what the OP has addressed, but he needs to make sure all the...
Replace seals at fuel sender unit. Better yet, replace sender and the fuel lines from sender to Lift Pump. You suck in air back there and it creates air in the system and starting problems. Been there twice on these vehicles in the last couple years.
I could get the block to Paveltolz. If he is willing, he frequently visits “family” in Tombstone, AZ. That would get it to within 12 hours of Seguin, TX. Just the block would weigh less and we’d cut down more than half the distance.
Before we get all work up over this, I need to verify the...
I had my 6.5 Optimizer shipped from the AM GEP plant in Franklin, Ohio to Missoula for $850 via Old Dominion. I picked it up at their loading dock and they forked it into a trailer for me. I then lifted it out with my tractor at home.
It did not have blowby, but suffered catastrophic oil loss from ruptured oil cooler line and seized at idle speed while coasting it down a mountain trail. Definitely not a high point in my life.
When am I not working?
Those look like what you were looking for?
Gotta say that I just needed to pay it forward. Mr Marty twice sent me an IP to help address problems on the ‘94 Suburban and helped confirm the existing IP was bad. Paveltolz helped me remove a failed engine and install a new...
Marty this is 28 hours drive time from Texas. That’s 3 days each way. Fuel, hotel, just ruins the economics. Best hope would be to string a couple hauls over time to get it closer.
