Around here they're pushing the zip system. It's designed for use in a remote system but they're pushing it for use in regular construction. Recipe for disaster if you ask me.
Picked up this metal cabinet. It was in poor condition, hammered out the bigger dents. Then cleaned and painted it. Had to make a new hinge pin as one was missing. Still have one more shelf to clean and paint.
So it was bugging me about what I read about the ring so I did some searching and it turns out I misunderstood what they said. They were talking front to back not rotational. That's what the big snap ring is for.
So I just got off the phone with Dayco tech. Evidently there is nothing that physically locks the outer ring. So basically nothing to be gained by trying to use better parts. Didn't last any longer than my OEM one.
