Went ahead and trimmed the shroud by removing a small section. The lower hose has a separate conduit type sleeve on it so that will help protect the hose from the anything coming off the fan blades. It no longer rubs. I used my table saw to cut out the section.

Since we're on the subject of starters; what are your opinions on starter upgrades say from Powermaster? I still have my original starter and I'm considering an upgrade to go with my new GEP motor.
This is the best I could do. Same side as the starter but a little bit forward of it. The motor is sitting on a wooden crate that my new GEP came on so I couldn't get to the exact location of the starter. I imagine the spacing is uniform. If someone has a oil pan gasket that might be better...
Are your glow plugs working? I once swapped computers in a truck between an "F" vin truck and "S" vin truck to see what would happen. The glow plugs would not activate with the foreign computer...just thinking you should confirm activation of the glow plugs.

To ak, yeah it's kinda of anemic in stock form, I have all the parts to make it into a "F" VIN setup just haven't got to it yet.

I would consider to just run it. Given the location, I don't foresee any catastrophic failure potential. Besides, how long have you been running it anyway? Meanwhile, keep an eye out for a replacement.
