    DS4 to DB2 Swap questions

You'll definitely want the bracket, too bad he doesn't have the throttle cable. Keep looking online or see if by chance a wrecker yard has a 92 or 93

    Vegetable Gardens

The pointy tomatoes are a paste/ sauce tomato called Granadero. Not much moisture in them so great for canning/ less water to cook down for preserving The beefsteak varieties are Marbone and Ginfizz. All bred specifically for growing in a high tunnel (greenhouse). I'm lucky to have this...

    Rebuild about done

Two questions- Where does one get offset keys? And how did the fellow up north get his hands on a new P400? lol

    Rebuild about done

In a thread on here months ago it was revealed that there are some potential issues with the new batch of timing gears from Leroy. Unfortunately the timing gears are not as simple as "plug and play" and the cam needs to be degreed to ensure proper timing when installing the gears. I'm no engine...

@Stoney what kind of tomato blight? If it's late blight there's nothing you can do, it kills plants overnight. All blights are from fungal spores that thrive it wet environments. So keeping the plants dry is prevention #1. Pruning the plants to promote air flow and drying out is another good...

    AC parts

@WarWagon thank you for the info. I'm a ways off from getting the system set up and am not familiar with the a/c system as a whole so your advice is greatly appreciated. What are you referring to when you say compressor coil? I'll have to go out and look under the hood for the inline diode, the...

    Mechanical Pump 95 Run Issues

I'm no pump expert but hard hot starts can be the signs of a worn head and rotor on an IP. Have him run the truck, and when it dies pour cool water on the IP and see if cooling it down gets it to fire up again. Is the IP original to '95? If so it could just be worn out and time for a rebuild

    Swapping in a NV4500 in place of a 4L80E

@SnowDrift can't recall if you use facebook or not but here's a guy parting out a '93 6.5 so it should have the throttle cable and throttle cable bracket for the DB2. If you're serious about going mechanical it wouldn't hurt to see if he has the necessary parts and would be willing to ship them...

    AC parts

Any progress on this Chris? I'm getting together a/c parts for my '93 dump and am going to replace condenser, compressor and drier/ accumulator as well. There's no switch on the condenser or compressor in stock form, so is the high pressure switch on the drier? Can you link to the adjustable...

    Swapping in a NV4500 in place of a 4L80E

From what I recall pre- 95 cabs where somewhat different inside, 95 was a bastard year, and 96+ is different from the aforementioned years. Just as seats from a 93 might not fit in a 95+, the pedals may not be the same too, but don't quote me on that. I ran into the same issue a few years back...

Tractor supply sells 30% vinegar. A similar product called green gobbler is sold at home depot. Organic folks use it as herbicide. Will burn anything it touches but won't kill back to the root. I've got a bad infestation of canadian thistle in my high tunnel too. Got half of it tarped; other...

    Swapping in a NV4500 in place of a 4L80E

@SnowDrift in case you missed the discussion in another thread there is one other manual transmission out there that will also fit, the Tremec TR4050. It's a still in production unit and has a higher torque rating than a stock NV4500 Only potential downside to some folks is that it uses the...

    Swapping in a NV4500 in place of a 4L80E

I've had good luck finding a few throttle cables, cruise modules and throttle brackets on Facebook Marketplace from folks parting out 92/93 trucks. They're rare but out there. Pretty sure that a new tune would be needed if going to NV4500 and keeping DS4. Computer may throw a code but no...

GMT800 front brake question, 3500 SRW vs DRW

Thanks @THEFERMANATOR , was hoping you'd share your knowledge. Any insight as to why there's different part numbers then? Would it be similar to the GMT400 where the DRW has thicker rotors and therefore needs a wider caliper?

    BW4401 t-case

Here's the link, looks like he got it figured out in the end https://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/threads/borg-warner-4401-t-case.3062/ In searching myself I can't find a rebuild kit that includes the clutch coil. Strange/ concerning that the problem part is hard to find. Keep us posted on what...

    BW4401 t-case

Sorry to hear it failed after such low mileage, any idea why? I recall there was another fellow on here about a year ago with the same issue, but he couldn't find any information on getting the case apart. I'll see if I can find the old thread and if he ever figured it out. Is there any other...

GMT800 front brake question, 3500 SRW vs DRW

I'm wondering if anyone knows for certain if there are any differences in the front brakes (caliper, hub, rotor, pads) between a GMT800 2500/3500 SRW and a 3500 dually/ cab & chassis I'm gathering parts for the GMT800 brake conversion for a GMT400 1 ton dump, and want the best braking...

    Frame woes

@Jetro9 here is a marketplace ad for one of the scrappers I was talking about. Located more so in Northeastern PA, but he also gets frames not just beds and fenders. If you don't use facebook let me know and I can see about getting his number. Good luck and keep us posted...

Brake upgrades using factory parts for GMT-400(88-00 OBS), and 94-99 DODGE 2500/3500

@drag sgt Here's a link to a thread specifically for the GMT800 conversion, worth reading all the way through. The page I'm linking to has a video which covers the swap where the fellow has the rare knuckles that don't need tie rod reaming and he uses the 800 series LCAs...
