I’m inside right now so I can’t take a pic, but here’s the post from when I installed them.

I prefer the 95+ dash, but this style has grown on me. I just use the screen on my phone for GPS, but a larger screen at the upper level of the dash would be nice.
I have a dash that came out of a Suburban at the junkyard that's in good shape. Hopefully it lasts a while. Good to know there are reproductions available now.
Another thing I wanted to try to tackle with the dash out was the dome lamp - everything electrical in the truck worked upon assembly except for the dome lamp. I figured I had wired something incorrectly. I started diagnosing and found poor conductivity in one wire. Eventually I found the source...
I switched direction this weekend and shifted to some interior things I wanted to address. Once I started driving the truck the dash had started cracking quite a bit. It actually started cracking some during assembly, but at that time I didn’t have another dash, but now I do, so this is a great...
Yeah, it's a 4L80e. There's so much info out there, and most of it is for racing, not low RPM diesels, so it's a lot to wade through. I don't even know if these lube mods are necessary for what we're doing, they just seemed like a good idea while I was in there. From what I gather, things...
I stole the transmission I built for this truck to put in my 94 Dually. I reasoned it made more sense for the way overbuilt trans to be in my primary tow pig, rather than this rig, especially considering the build levels of the engines that each will have, at least to start. This is the trans...
My gut feeling is their catalog isn’t correct and they can’t actually get the tone ring. The part I don’t get is why the order hasn’t been automatically cancelled though. Not a big deal, it’s just curious.
Oh, and it’s been 2 weeks since I ordered the speedometer tone ring from Jegs and I haven’t heard anything yet, so I’ll have to call them this week. I’m guessing I’ll just be putting the original one on with Loctite.
I received the seal kit yesterday.
Here are the 3 shift shaft seals I have now. Left to right are: New from kit, New all the catalogs call for (actually for electric shift) and then the new one from the kit. It’s a match.
Here’s a close-up of the original seal:
Here’s a close-up of...
New one. Expires 2/7/25. Should come in handy for a Valentine's gift for that special someone. Nothing says, "I love you" like a new set of brake pads.

I was able to find a number on the old seal, but it didn't help me with cross-referencing. I'm not sure the goons at the local Napa would be very helpful in trying to cross-refence this seal - it used to be Napa was where you went for better parts and service around here, but it seems they've...
Yeah, I just used a 2-jaw puller to remove it. It came off pretty easily. There's another version of the tone ring that has a smooth bore instead of the splined one like mine - I imagine that one is tougher to remove. The smooth bore tone ring is a little more readily available, but...
Today I got the transfer case assembled….at least as much as I can.
Here’s what I did for the case saver mod:
Well first, here’s the problem - the oil pump is held stationary with this stamped sheet metal bracket that is captured by bosses in the aluminum case. In theory it’s a fine setup...
