In my case it was ride quality & mpg the 2wd has spring suspension in a C1500 vs torsion bar in 4x4, and 2wd mpg on the 3:42 burbs is better than the 3:73/4:10s most common in the 4x4 version. Plus height of the 2wd suits my wife better in/out than the 4x4 being slightly taller; and she who...
Bad OPS will not preclude a OBD-II 96+ lift pump from running, read about OPS/Lift operation here : http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?6872-Lift-Pumps-amp-OPS-operation-and-troubleshooting
Mechanic removed the intake to fix the leak.....why ???
You don't think he pinched the OPS or another wire or forgot to connect the gnds on back of the pass side intake not knowing that is what controls the PCM and now it is not powering up?
Remember our discussion the other day when...
Todd,
Very odd from what you described last night that you took the truck to the shop without a no start/theft issue to now having one, do you think thay changed the PCM ???
An IP swap would not have caused your theft deterrent to kick in, a different PCM would.
Another thought...
I merged Als latest information with one I had posted @ another site long time ago:
If you have a 97+ year you may need to do this when swapping PCMs or installing a reflash PCM
Code that comes up would be DTC P1631 THEFT DETERRENT PASSWORD INCORRECT
Important: While the PCM is in the...
Glad to have been able to assist Todd,

Todd the other day we were talking I thought we were talking about a C1500 truck with 8 lug, C1500 Burb is whole different story I own one of those myself with 8 wheel lug, 3:42 ratio so no surprises there.
Here is some FYI when it comes to OBD-II timing I wrote a while back over on old site & posted in the TRL here I think
Timing is best set with a GM tech 2, that said it can be done on OBD-IIs with a Snap On MT2500. You also should try to get a set of IP wrenches Snap On or OTC make a set just...
Did some special work over & above what a normal rebuild would entail, get up with me in PM & we can compare notes and I'll call you or you me Nick my # is same if you still have it.
Nick,
Negative on Diesel Depot they have lost their focus on quality rebuilds, they can when they want to, do a decent job, but after some of the horror stories I've heard of lately you do not want to use them.
If you are interested I can put you in touch with my builder in MS that can do...
Hard to find...."What-chu talking Bout Willis" pictures, words & everything one need to needs to know about 6.5 fuel delivery in the TRL http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?6872-Lift-Pumps-amp-OPS-operation-and-troubleshooting my how easily they forget about it :)...
Hi Gruff you said NOVA as in Norfolk Va possibly, 2 posts welcome to the site.
TDCO issue eh, just moving the IP will not change the TDCO it has to be commanded to relearn either with a ko/ko command via the APP or if you have a Tech2 or Tech2 clone the learn can be commanded so long as you are...
6.2 bottom end with 6.5 upper end is a very capable combination, still plenty of 6.2 blocks around, unless you can come up with a "killer deal" on a GEP block I'd look very close at the 6.2/6.5 combination.
Here is the reason to buy a TM #1 it works #2 easily installed, #3 designed to reliably be installed without having to add gauges.
You could "home brew" your own but then you would have to come up with a spring that isn't too strong or too weak, determine the appropriate length rod and make a...
