I noticed after mine was installed that temps are more consistent at 186-188 with a 190 degree thermostat, it heats up to temperature more quickly from cold, and brings coolant temperature down more quickly when working it hard.
Got a chance to change those return hoses, fixed that leak. Three ends of the six ripped and left 1/4" of hose on the injector barbs, no wonder they were leaking. I'll do the ones on the other side of the engine when I remove the turbo. Getting a lot of oil in the intake and outlet blown into...
Nope, it snowed most of the day. I may get time over the weekend, but more storms are supposed to be lined up to keep the cold white stuff falling out of the sky. I have new hose so I won't need to trim the old ones, just cut to length and replace. My garage is a mess so I have some cleaning to...
Come home from work tonight to a massive puddle of fuel under the front of the truck... looks like it is coming from the second injector back on the driver side. The truck hasn't moved in 2 days, so I can't think of why it would randomly start dripping fuel all of the sudden. I started it to...
I am running an Airdog pump and filter system. Tank sock was removed and 3/8" hose from the tank to the IP when installed. Maybe it's time to change filters already, but it has only been a few thousand miles.
It is sitting at 116k right now. I have owned it for about 3 years, and have gotten the impression it has been a horse that was ridden hard and put away wet. It has had a lubricity additive in the tank since I have owned it, but no telling what was done before me. I don't know if the shop that...
You just described exactly what it is doing. Set the cruise at about 45 MPH, engine running at 1700ish RPM. You can hear and feel engine power drop out for about a second, then comes back for about 3 seconds, and repeats over and over. Smoke at startup and accelerating has never been this bad...
Starting to get a part throttle surge and random puffs of black smoke out the tail pipe, thinking the PMD is on it's last leg. Ordered a new Flight Systems unit with relocation kit from Quadstar. Maybe it's time to let this truck go before it gets any worse...
More parts... this box is full of a bunch of fun, 63 mm compressor wheel and front exit housing for the HE351VE. In a heavy box under that is the Quadstar torque converter. In a bigger box next to those is a Champion aluminum 3 row radiator. Now to find the time for all this seriousness...
Ordered a Quadstar billet torque converter and GM style Champion aluminum radiator to replace the stock TCC and used Cummins radiator I suspect are burned and gummed up. I decided to go with the GM style radiator to keep from hacking up a new Dodge style radiator and immediately voiding a...
Wouldn't do it any other way.
Ordered a momentary PB today too to latch a relay for manual TCC lockup, maybe. It would unlatch when the brake pedal is pressed, just like cruise control. Still trying to decide if I want to chance it with a PWM lockup solenoid though, I hear it wreaks havoc in an...
