Long, slow build of my truck

Thanks for the tips on the battery connections guys. I will be cleaning them this week. I called PureFlow (Raptor mfr) today to discuss my pump. Long story short they are stepping up to the plate and replacing it under warranty. A huge stroke of luck! Very impressed and grateful for their...

Long, slow build of my truck

We aren't out of the woods yet, but some progress. The truck runs currently. We were able to start it without really changing anything. It acted as if it was airbound, but it ran with the same PMD, IP, LP, etc as when it died. Once we confirmed that it would run, I changed the primary filter out...

It has fuel pressure though which is the weird part. We will see tomorrow I guess

Long, slow build of my truck

Tragedy has (potentially) struck and the truck (possibly) needs an injection pump. I was driving home Monday night following another successful Moe's Monday with a regular group of fellow diesel buddies (the "Moe's Bro's") when I noticed that under acceleration my fuel pressure was dropping...

One friend mentioned the fact that GM puts a dampener on the pinion yoke, whereas Dodge does not. If I switched to the GM yoke w/ dampener I could maybe use my existing driveshaft. The Dodge yoke would require a new driveshaft. I can't seem to find any info on if the pinion splines are the same...

Pardon my ignorance but what if I used a flywheel for an NV (13"?) and had a custom clutch made up for the setup. What issue does a the input shaft pose? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup, new t case for sure. Truck is likely getting solid axle swapped in the winter/spring so it would need new driveshafts anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So in Lahmans terms if I can make a clutch work with a GM zf6 I'm in business? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So now it becomes an issue of making a clutch work I would think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Isn't a Duramax a BBC pattern since it has the same trans offerings as 8.1? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So why wouldn't a ZF bolt up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Long, slow build of my truck

Great info here. NV5600 is out due to integral bell housing and apparent lack of companies making adapter kits. With the ZF6 being BBC bolt pattern, I figured a BBC to SBC adapter would be easy enough to find. What to run for a clutch was an issue and you raise a good point with the input shaft...

Long, slow build of my truck

Sump is installed, tank is in, fuel filter is mounted. The fuel filter mount is going to need some tweaking as it is very close to a cross member and would make filter changes difficult to say the least. We would have buttoned it up however I somehow wound up with 3/8" barbs for the filter and I...

Got the sump and sending unit installed last night. Also made a bracket to hold the pre-LP filter. More pics to come. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Long, slow build of my truck

Some miscellaneous information on the truck. On Friday I ordered parts from Rock Auto to repair my leaking/rotted fuel filler neck along with a new sending unit and fuel tank straps. Then yesterday I found a complete Spectra fuel tank with sending unit and straps for $100. Paid $50 and picked...

Thanks guys. In regards to the oil pressure, I have 5psi on a hot idle. Driving around it's anywhere from 25-40 depending on RPM. I've only had the AutoMeter gauge since April, so until then I was relying on the dash gauge, which I now know to be inaccurate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
