My truck is equipped with 3.42 gears, and sometimes when pulling a heavy trailer, I prefer 3rd, but for some reason on my 93, the TCC only engages in OD, not 3rd. So I decided to install manual TCC switch on my truck.
First I located the ground wire for the TCC solenoid. On my truck, its a...
Thats awesome, I've never seen a 5 speed Tahoe. Is the NV3500 holding up ok with the torque of the diesel? Are you planning on refreshing the 6.2 anytime soon?
Matt
Very good. Which one of your trucks is this on. I notice that your signature says your 92 has spun bearings, but your in the process of a 6.5 conversion on your 96 Tahoe.
Matt
Interesting. Why did you choose to do it the other way around, and why not just use the HX40's compressor side as well, rather than the smaller 35? Was it so you wouldn't have to run a wastegate, and still keep the boost from getting to crazy? Not that 23 isn't already quite high. I'm running in...
Nate, I wish I had your good luck. First a crack free 6.2 for $50, and now a $900 Optimizer?!?! Wow, thats fantastic, and I'm looking forward to the tear down, with lots of pics!:D
Matt
I know this is getting a little off topic, but I figure I can get away with it in my thread. I though I'd post a few pics of my GT's. The 3rd pic is with my two youngest boys. The little orange tractor is a 1952 Bantam 3000 I've owned since I was a kid. I restored it, and gave it to Danny on his...
I meant to ask. Nate, what kind of garden tractors do you have? I have several that I love, my Case 222, and 444, along with my Wheel Horse B-80. I traded my Wheel Horse C-160 for this truck, and while I feel I got a great deal, I miss my C-160.
Matt
That wasn't a hijack Nate. I always like talking about the weather, as long as I'm not the one shivering! :p
I guess I'm surprised that yours doesn't spool as fast as mine. Your running an HX35, and I figured it would spool as fast as my turbo. My spool time is quick, even if I only apply 1/2...
I'm with you Nate, while I don't mind a good puff when I mash it, I like to burn clean most of the time. Nobody likes "that guy". :D
Both my parents were from Michigan, and I still have alot of family in the Lansing, and Travers City areas. I don't like those winters! It was 80 here yesterday...
Welcome to TTS. You've come to the right place, as there have been several HX40 builds here lately, here in the performance section. http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/forums/6-5-performance.229/
Here are a few of the builds.

Nice work on your 6.2, but I'm really digging the old Blue Bird Wanderlodge in the background.:) Had a 76 model a few years back with a 534 For gas burner in it. Always wanted to do a 3208T Cat conversion, but it never happened, and ended up selling it. Those are very well built old coaches.

I didn't turn up the fuel yet, but I did get a video of the current coal coming from the exhaust pipe. It only roles coal until the boost gets to about 10, and then it clears up. Here is the vid.
