OBD-1 scan tool, any one know where to get a USB to OBD-1 (12 pin) cable, or tried (16 pin) OBD-2/USB to (12)pin OBD-1 conversion "jumper cable"

I have a friend (A) of a friend (B), that bought a 95, 6.5 C1500 Burb,

"B" decided for poor performance, & leaking fuel from fuel solenoid (I think) that he needed to change IP, and PCM at same time.

Friend "A", told him "I know a good 6.5 guy" me, I wished they has called 1st but already into the IP swap.

It has been forever since I messed with OBD-1, I have Engh Motors GMTD Scan OBD-1 software on an old net book, but can't find the cable.

Anybody know where I can get one beside here ? many $$$ (70+) https://aldlcables.com/products/aldl-12-pin-usb-cable , has anyone tried to make a 16 pin USB/OBD-2 work with a "16-12" pin converter cable ? Many less $$$ (16) https://www.ebay.com/itm/188335493255

Dang, I didnt realize they were so expensive. I have one for my 89 Foxbody and Moates tuning software.

TD, if I can find it I'd be willing to let you borrow if wanted. To be honest I only use it a time or 2 per year.

Thank you I may take you up on that, somewhere around here I have a Westers tuning kit that may have one in it as well, but it has been so long since I played with that I'm clueless where it might be.

Maybe I can make one, or modify one of those 16 pin USB-OBD-2, to 12 pin OBD 1 connectors work.

So I got in touch with Stefan Engh the writer for the GMTD scan tool, he did not say yea or nay about the 16-12 pin connector converter just This is the one you need and it was the $70 cable, so it is inbound.

Next question, the IP on the truck (95 C1500 Burb) that was leaking fuel was a 5068 and "spare" installed was as 5521, I think it must have been a core after install it would idle badly or hang at 2000 rpm. I challenged it to begin with as open port, nothing blocked/covered, and no history.

Local IP shop has a 5521 for $750, and 5068 for $1200, why the disparity in price other than fewer 5068s to be had in rebuildable shape.

Can the 5521 IP be installed on a 95, as I thought maybe 94 was 5068 IP, and 5521 for 95+, possibly wrong IP on this engine to begin with, can anyone point me in the right direction on this, my OBD-1 experience it significantly less than with OBD-2.

I built mine for the GMTDscan using a guide I found on DP forums. The jungle site sells the usb to serial adapter, and it only uses two wires that connect to the OBD1 port to connect.

Here is the link to DP site...

and the Amazon link for the adapter I used.
