I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado 6.5 Turbo Diesel Im having issues with my A/C not cutting on when I got the truck I did a whole maintenance just for peace of mind with everything one being the A/C. With new compressor, accumulator, pressure switch, Freon, oil, and the lines. While doing it I went to go refill with freon unfortunately i came across the issue of the compressor not kicking on. I have checked relay, fuse, and wires while checking all was good but there was no power to the wires for my low pressure switch that's on the accumulator and the relay was good and all the other HVAC fuses were good too. I am trying to figure out what color wire is for that switch that goes to the fuse box or figure out how I can fix this.

There's a two wire connection atop the ac/heater housing (inside the cab) closest to the computer behind the glove box. The wire color escapes me but one has power. I also have a 91 gasser that this happened to. The whole HVAC was dead. No fan, no lights, etc.
The wire connector mentioned above melted internally. Looked ok at first. I used a probing test light. One side was hot, the other wasn't. Eliminated the melted connector and got the power back.
I think the wire color is one green and the other brown.

I still have power to everything else blower motor and the lights still turns on. The 2 connections to the A/C Compressor also have power. I am about to take a look at that wire you mentioned and see if the lost of power is still persistence there.

is the little light coming on on the AC control panel. 95 is a bastard child for GM they are "experimenting" with changes in prepping for the newer obd2 series trucks. the AC control has an issue where one of the transistors will blow and cause the AC compressor not to work. there is a repair out there online that involves you having to bridge the solder points on that transistor to make it work. I opted to "convert" mine and make the control from a 96+ work.

I can't recall if the little indicator light actually worked or not when mine went out, but if you pull the control from the dash and back-porbe the connector where it actually sends power out for the compressor, that will tell you if the control in the dash is the issue. Those things are pricey and for the 95 it's 95 only for that model. all I did was snag one from a pick a part yard for a 96 or 97 and splice in the connectors from my 95 and it works great.

There is also a high pressure switch that is mounted on the compressor that receives power first. make sure that switch is there and the wires are intact. on mine, the PO had bypassed that switch and I had to hunt for the wires up in the harness!
