After a weekend of off-roading and camping, I took the Suburban in for a revisit on alignment because it was steering to the left. The alignment tech confirmed some issues that I was seeing:

1) Outer tied rod on passenger side was loose (again) in the knuckle. Obviously I over did it with the reaming when I did the GMT-800 brake conversion. Temporary fix was to place a washer under the castle nut to further draw the tie rod end taper up into the knuckle, which worked.

2) Steering box had some play in it, so I did the adjustment thing with the set screw and got rid of all the play.

3) Lost the driver’s side sway bar link. Had an old one and replaced that.

4) Alignment tech says there is no adjustment left for camber in the driver’s side UCA. I don’t know what the answer is for this as it’s a cam washer which is moved by the mount bolt.

Test drove the vehicle and the steering is straight, tight and virtually all the wheel pulse is gone.

Maybe there is a different camber adjustment washer that can be purchased and installed ? ? ? ?
That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Although tests show no play in the UCA bushings, I’m wondering if new energy suspension polyurethane bushings would help here?

Did I mention this is the tightes the front end has ever been?
