What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Ordered these along with new forward door window glass.

The glass currently in the doors is scratched deep and bad.
Tired of trying to look through that scarred up crap.
The truck is going to the body shop for new window motor/regulator installation so just getting it all in one throw.
The electronical door locks are problematic also but IDG a crap about those.
I can manually deal with them.
Trying to get this truck in fairly nice condition for the big trip, and, beyond.

Removed the right side door panel.
Scrubbed the door good and clean, prepping the truck for the trip to the body shop on Friday, if all of the components arrives in time.
I have My doubts that the parts will all be here so then I’ll reschedule.
Also cleaned out the cab some.
Took the air hose and blew the debris from the seats and floor.
Beginning to look like a regular over the road truck again.

With the door panel removed, now is a good time to go over the locking rods while you access inside the door. Get the gack off where it’s accumulated in the guides using solvents and steel wool/abrasive pads then, relubricate with silicone. Should help with the power locks you had mentioned weren’t functioning. At least, if you decide to replace the actuators ‘while you’re in there’ the rods won’t be binding from excessive resistance.

I shalt do that. After changing IPs, I guess. 🤷😹😹😹

Dave, a guybthat owned Blue Hummer used to sell them. He sold his company and I am still surprised no one else sells them loose for that.
Dave just sealed the back side with silicone after removing the wires. Kept it water tight & clean. Maybe Leroy should replace his sold off hmmwv add with one as a regular part for sale? Could help a lot of guys that aren’t on the forums realize it’s a good idea.’

Changed the oil on the ‘99 with the new 6.5 Optimizer at 2300 miles since the change at 500 miles. Headed up to Montana this weekend and did not want to go past 3000 on this oil change. Truck is running great.
I checked and I think there is about 300 miles on My oil change, after the big dilemma.
I will be leaving for Ohio on the 18th and dont really want to have to change oil out along the highway so just not sure what I should do.
Maybe make a drive to Billings this weekend, that would put it at about 600 miles on this oil change, or, just make my 60 mile run to church and home and change it when I get back from church.
I think thats the more logical thing to do, then, change oil at My brothers over in Ohio before driving home.

Oh yeah, took the truck to the body shop, getting the new window motor assemblies installed, new window opening seals and new drivers and passenger side window, new switches and a new inside door handle on the passenger side.
Thats about all for now.

The body shop has the doors done.
Their person thats a front end specialist has not had a chance to look over the front end for what caused the steering to get tough then pop and free up again.
My guess it is the drag link.
