Sup homies! Ummm, I think I just walked into the wrong party, but you guys seem cool so I might stay. LOL

Danny, 43, Boise, Idaho.
  • 1991 Geo Metro 1.0L 5-speed (in a 5-year coma with a valve punched through piston #1)
  • 2007 Ford F-150 FX4 5.4L 3-valve (the most painful $1000 ever spent)
  • 1995 Chevy Camaro 3.4L 4L60E (girlfriend's ride, my problem)

I've never owned any kind of diesel truck, so I'm definitely in the wrong group. I stumbled in here on accident while searching for a solution to my 161/194 bulb socket conundrum. It's rare that I hit the "Next" arrow on Google searches, but I figured why not, and as I scanned through the marketing algorithm's attempt to steal my money, I found someone who was looking for the same answers as myself. Goose57 and his 1995 rig was on the same struggle bus as my girlfriend's '95 Camaro! The answers he got were exactly what I needed.

Now I know, 1995 GM vehicles of all types are disgusting half-breeds created in a dirty, moist dungeon by evil engineers, and consisting of horrific OBD 1/OBD II combinations, 161 bulb twist sockets (T10S-TW or T1.5-X; thanks DieselCash!) are one-off variants of standard T10's, wiring schematics don't exist in DIY manuals for that specific year, and generally seem to be built by unsupervised gremlins with the leftovers of GM stockpiles which were made obsolete by government emissions regulations.

WHEW! Okay, anyway, thanks for letting me crash your party and for keeping the forums alive!

Welcome. We enjoy helping whoever we can and hearing funny stories. Sometimes the funny story is like this one where I side with your girlfriend’s choice of camaro over your truck and kind worry about anyone admitting they own a geo still! Haha jk- but really I like Camaros. From the early 90’s till 2010 I owned a 69 Camaro. Bankruptcy ended keeping it. I like all of them & the pontiac firechickens err firebirds.

Post pics of your issue, I can’t remember which light fixtures were in which years but there is a few solutions I can try remembering depending which one you have.

And yes you are right about the 95 obd1/obd2 issue. That even carried through to AM General Hummer (mine) with the GM 6.5 diesel in it. Really the rig is obd1 but they stuffed an obd2 connector on it. The only thing in it that can talk toa. Computer of any amount is the transmission a 4L80E.

Now about the Geo with the dead engine- that could become your first diesel-
I got family near you and know a lot of trucks end up mangled while still running from arguments with the snow. A little torch here and a little welding there- BAM GEODIESELGEO!

I had a 1988 and a 1989 built in 1988, Chevy / Geo Spectrums.

Good little cars. I probably should have done or got the timing belts changed.

I was very neglectful and abusive of those vehicles to the tune of a few hundred thousand miles.

Turning the AC on, was like throwing an anchor out the window.

30 mpg all the time. 35 mpg with Casey's premium.

They took 10 gallon to fill and I checked mileage every fill.
