Just bought an ex-municipal 1998 GMC 2500 6.5 liter TD with 140k on it. I have a 1990 P-30 with a 6.5 non TD and like it. They were both city trucks. Maintenance is regular on City vehicles, although some of the other work, especially wiring, has been interesting, was removed, and done over correctly. I've had two late model Cummins HD's, and although they had some nice features, the complexity, as well as the electronics, plus the monthly payments got old.
This truck has the PMD relocation and a new OPS. It just needs all the fluids and filters changed so I can start out with everything fresh.
This site was recommended by someone on another forum. In researching the TD model I read some opinionated BS. This forum is supposed to be free of that. Hope so.
