Plowing continues, the break is supposed to be here today. Then up into the 40s for a few days with rain Thursday night.
Final cleanup the next morning:
Thanks for posting this, I have severe slop I have not been able to correct on my 05. Most of it looks to be from the gearbox output shaft bearing, but I am sure some might be coming from here. I have nearly 1-inch of play in my steering even after replacing 2 gearboxes, the steering shaft, and...
Looks awesome Nate.
I agree, a small lift is what I would do. I cant leave anything alone either.
When I had my GMT400s I always wanted a GMT800, mostly because of the hype. Now that I have an 800 I do really like it, and it is a great platform, but I grew up in 400s and always have a soft...
Overall interesting to hear. I went through the decision of the big 3 a while back, I really wanted a Toyota at the time, but wanted more than a 1/2-ton. Ended up with a new 21 F250 with the 6.2L and the 6r140.
I'm at 91K now, I did have a coil pack kinda fail about 10K miles ago, it was arcing...
Second plow event of the year, missed pictures on the first. Got the new rear rotors in from RA, awaiting the moment it isn't subarctic so I can put them on.
Ran the Yukon today doing errands with the plow on. Kinda messing with the tuning of the Hayden fan controllers. Found some issues I need to figure out:
-After some fan cycles I get a P0480, which is fan circuit 1 error. Im guessing its not sensing a voltage drop from fan startup? It does have...
Went back out to the truck to check how tight the box is with 2 people. Its FAR better than the reman on the Yukon. Also found out the truck is a 4.8L and not a 5.3L. Hope to get it drug home this week or next, its gonna be a fight. No steering and the frame drags behind the cab.
Went and looked at the $100 parts truck today. It gets rougher everytime I look at it. Its currently broke into almost 3 pieces, right behind the cab, and at the rear leaf perches. Its a 2006 Chevrolet RC/LB, base model 4wd V8. I would assume a 4.8L, but I have not verified. Its got Fisher push...
Agree for sure. We may change this up. They are calling for 6-plus inches of lake effect Friday so I kinda jumped quick on the install. Thats a good call on the HF boxes.
The plow wiring is actually very "plug and play". The only splices needed are to the turn signals behind the marker lights...
I actually ended up getting electro-plated rotors instead of painted. I think Raybestos Element3 rotors is what they were. Mainly because I heard of the brand, and them peddling the electroplated rust prevention. I still bet these are gonna rust the first night they are on.
I confirmed overall...
They are in. Got the probes installed in the radiator, also got the trigger side all wired up. Due to snow Friday and rain shutting my progress down I have the ground alligator clipped temporarily to the negative battery terminal. I need to find a good long term ground spot. I have the pot...
