I have an Flash Scan coming and have been to the GM site to get calibration numbers.
How do I match up the numbers found there to the numbers in the controller?
Hello Young man, I have a 99 GMC 3/4 ton with 5.7 and 4L80. Trans needs work. I have a core from a 2006 Chevy. I understand the rebuild kit should be the same between the years. I would like to install new solenoids. Are the solenoids different between years? I found a master solenoid kit for 1991 - 2003. I am I on the right track. Thank you for your time.

The shift solenoids are all the same, but there is 3 different EPC's(pressure control solenoids). 91-93 uses a completely different EPC from 94+, 94-03 uses another, and 04+ is the same solenoid, but GM changed plugs. They sell adapters to use the 94-03 style in an 04+ trans, or you can use a 94-03 internal harness to use the earlier 94-03 EPC(which most builders agree is a better solenoid than the 04+).
I wanna swap out my 97 k1500 4l60e to a 97 4l80e trans what would i all need besides the torque converter for the 4l80e ? And do i need the plug harness end for the 4l80e as i read some where one time i can make the 4l60e plug work by moving some wires around ? And i know i need to move the crossmember back a ways
Hey I’ve been looking for info on my 1991 suburban. I’m looking for a 4L80e, mine is gone. I found one at a salvage yard in a 1993 chevy 3500 with a 454, wondering if I’d be able to use the 1993 trans. It’s a 4L80e as well but it was a plow truck and I know for a fact it was beat on bc I used to work for said salvage yard and they destroy they’re trucks.

My suburban was a fire vehicle, was taken care of until the kid I got it from got it and destroyed the trans. Reverse is out, 1,2, and 3 gear slip horribly and never could get it into 4. Or past 40 and even getting to that it’s screaming the whole time, suburban has 200k. 93 has 104k, do I rebuild my trans or should I get the 93 trans and see if it’s good or rebuild that. Any help would be appreciated
I’m new and looking for advice on which gdp a/c compressor I should get rockauto had the kits with condensers and all. I have a 94 gmc suburban 2500 7.4L with rear a/c. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I am in the south florida area and am having no luck in finding a good 6.2/6.5L diesel mechanic. I was told by SCTRAILRIDER that you are in the Tampa area and if so, I would like to bring my vehicle there for service. The service I would need is for the bigger things as for the smaller stuff can be handled by the local mechanics, "I think!".
    Thanks for your time.

I'm not physically able to work anymore, 12 herniated discs have caught up to me, and I'm limited to bed most days now. I only do a few projects now when I can get help.

I'm new and am not sure how to post a question but do you know where one could find the tool to replace an ac high side valve stem on a 1989 Chevy K 1500. The tools I have found are for the new small stems. Thank you

I just looked at my 88 and it uses the large schrader valve. Most AC schrader tools are double ended with a small and large side.
Hi I was wondering if you would know if I could take a 98 5.7 4l80e tranny and swap it into a 2004 2500 6.0 suburban, Does the can bus system come into play here? Tia

Electrically it will work and will bolt in, but you will have 1 less bellhousing bolt since the 98 doesn't have the bolt hole at 12 o clock. And I'm pretty sure the torque converter is different between them.

Hmm should I worry about that extra bolt hole or not?

Without it you have quite a large area without a bellhousing bolt.
    Hi Fermanator
Would you happen to have a tune for an OS 12603624 that has a standard transmission. I'm trying to make a standalone but the engine turns off after 30 seconds.

Pretty much everything I have left for base OS's is in the tune library.

Just looked, and that is a very early 06 lly OS. Any lbz manual trans tune should work. And if it's shutting off after 30 seconds, that doesn't sound like a tune issue, but more like running out of fuel or something else.
There is a little white plug on top of the tumbler casing. I do not see how to remove it. This is on a '99 6.5. I have posted my request three different places on this site (electrical, steering, and 6.5), and no one seems to know how to remove this plug. I am trying not to destroy something, and make my job worse. I have pictures of the plug in question on the site postings (ignition switch harness plug).
I have a 2006 denali code po o717 internal speed sensor replaced and shifting solenoids replaced. I like to turn off po codes. I see your in zephyrhills any chance you can help me out know problembuyingvin access. I have a hp tuner but fromwhat I understand only a ef live tuner can do this.

It's the iss in the transmission. We changed it and had a hp tuner hooked up while driving and the rpm goes to zero for over 5 secs and sets the code which puts trans in maximum pressure. I'm think ints a wire problem. I would like to have iss turned off with tuner. I live in Zephyrhills to

    Hey Ferm,
I tried posting a question to the D.I.Y. center but got a message that I don't have the appropriate permissions to post there. Is this something you could fix for me?
    Thank you

Do Me A Favor When You Get A Min And Check Out My Last Posting. I've Got A Couple Of Quick Questions And Hoping You May Have Some Ideas. I Just Went Out To See If The Batteries Being Completly Charged May Make A Difference But It Still Acts Froze Up. Also Took A Look From Underneath For The Clearance between BAL And Block And There Seems To Be None. ? I Could Swear I Put It On In SameFashion That It Came Off in.
I read in one of your post that the tranny 5 to 6 speed conversion is done in Indiana, do you know who and where they are?

    Thanks
