  • That priming tool was made from the rpm sensor/oil pump drive some 6.5's had. Basically removed the cap & sensor wheel, leaving enough exposed shaft to chuck a 3/8" drill onto. Then chucked it in a drill press & spun it while grinding down/off the cam driven gear teeth.

Starting w/ the taller vacuum pump/oil pump drive would probably be a bit neater. The tool I made leaks a bit of oil up past the shaft, so it's a bit messy. Works effectively & not oil everywhere, just a bit messy. I'd had no luck finding the vac/oil pump drive core at the salvage yard, so I went forward w/ what I could find.
Enjoyed looking at your pictures. Was especially interested in the priming/testing oil pressure and 6.5 oil pump primer tool pictures. Do you have a write up on that on the forum any where? Is it a vacuum pump drive with the camshaft gears removed? Plus maybe other modifications to the vacuum pump drive.
