My son was driving the 95 today and he said he put it in drive to go and pressed the accelerator and nothing. He said he pressed it 5 times all the way to the floor and nothing. He turned off the truck and restarted and all is fine now. Appreciate the thoughts?

The APP (throttle pedal) is going toasty.
Once in a blue moon fix is remove it and operate it from idle to full throttle a ton of times while spraying a can of electrical contact cleaner on the potentiometers.

Out of the truck is because of the stinky mess you will make trying it. Take the time to spray and clean the connector when you first remove it, before you empty the can.

Reinstall, and clear the code. Talk really sweet to the truck and cross your fingers...

Then go price shopping...

Thanks guy's. I'll check the codes and clean it. Hope it works. If it doesn't work what part do I look for? throttle pedal?

I just checked rockauto for it and the only 2 parts for the throttle are the throttle position sensor and the throttle control actuator connector. Is it the TPS?

That is not cheap.

Like all things Diesel or 6.5 it's best to troubleshoot it before throwing $expensive$ parts at it. Ask your GM dealer how "cheap" this part listed really is. What codes did you get? Myself I would use the laptop scanner and cable on the 1995 that Leroy sells and watch the 3 APP readings as I moved the pedal.

Keep in mind the ECM will "Glitch" if you don't leave they key "off" for 30 seconds before turning it back on. The Capacitors keep the ECM running this long with the key off. You can get readings on the APP (throttle) moving through the OBD port 30 seconds after key off. Know how to know when you FUBARED this: The SES and STS lights DO NOT behave normally for a bulb check with one or both not lighting up on key on. (Shut it off for 30 seconds and then watch both bulbs come on at key on.) My 1995 would set a "ghost" code for the APPS position sensor if I keyed it back on too quick sometimes.
There is another connector between the ECM plug and APP pedal. Yes, I have spent way too much time hunting down the ghost code on my 1995. New APP, New ECM and cleaned the connectors before discovering how to trip the code.

I took it out and cleaned it with electrical cleaner as described by Will. It worked fine for 3-4 weeks and started doing it again. I just replaced the sensor (not the pedal) on Monday and it just happened again. I'm thinking wiring or computer.

Check for codes, and kinda back to same recommendations as above.

Since cleaning worked before, you might try cleaning again just as diagnostics. If it "fixes" it, expect to buy a new one and hopefully the cleaning keeps it working until the new one comes in.

That is a new sensor I put in Monday. A doreman that I got from Rockauto.

Unless you ask the ECM what's going on you are in the dark. It could be wiring to the sensors, ECM, or power to ECM: grounds or positive supply including ign switch. Do you get a STS light when it's acting up?

It took some pretty diligent cleaning on the terminals of the boost system of My truck to get it to function as it should. I did throw some parts at it, to no avail. Used a points file to clean the male ends of the terminals and a very small file to get into the female ends, it now works as it should. the little hand held bead blaster would not get in deep enough to get them scrubbed clean. The terminals did not even look that bad, was I ever wrong.
I have a dental file that was small enough to get into the female terminals.

Yes. Every time it happens the STS light comes on.
